Well said, however I do think you need to be a fan of all sports to have all sides of the argument
Depends on what aspect you are considering to be boring to be honest. As a general sport, it's not that boring for me personally, I like innovative ideas and approaches to car design and I find this aspect interesting. Individual races can be boring due to a number of factors, which become even worse when we race at tracks like Paul Ricard,Sochi, Monaco, Hungaroring etc. For that, I am hopeful that the regulation changes serve up their purpose: if cars can actually follow each other without losing much downforce and also the budget cap proves out to be good.
I would say that in the current state the spectacle is a bit boring at the front as Mercedes is way better than any other outfit on the grid, but the midfield has been quite nice to watch IMO. Of course we would like to have more winners and podium getters, so that's an issue that F1 should positively address soon.

Of course it's boring!! I mean you say every sport has one or two teams that will win more often, ok that's probably true in some other sports but at least in general it's not completely and utterly dominated by just one team and the same team over and over again. Dude the last two seasons in f1 everybody (who's not a Merc fan) had high hopes for someone else to win. It didn't happen!! This year instead of it improving and teams closing the gap to Mercedes it's gotten worse than ever before. It's even more predictable now than it ever was and when any sport becomes predictable of course it becomes boring also, especially F1 where the cars in the lead have very little action over the course or a race other than passing back markers or doing a fastest lap. Honestly, after the first 3 races of this season I find it hard to sit down to even watch the highlights such is the predictability and boredom of F1 in its current state.

So you're saying Austria was boring. It is not the result that matters but the racing that gets there.

So you're saying Austria was boring. It is not the result that matters but the racing that gets there.
THe first race was a pretty good race, you're right there. But let's just say there were no safety cars in that race, it would have been another snooze fest, guaranteed! Sometimes it seems like safety cars are deliberately deployed into a race simply for the sake of drama or trying to shake things up so as it doesn't turn into a completely tedious affair. May God above rebuke me if I'm wrong and if not let him rebuke those whi say I'm wrong when they know it to be true!
Eh, one very close finish? There have been better overall races than that last decade in F1. And if we are going back into the past, let's look at 1971 Italian GP, top 5 in 0.6 seconds, that's a great finish. Any wet race in F1 is far more satisfying than watching the cars glued to a banking for hours, no matter how good the latter is. Technologically, F1 is far superior, and seasons like 2012 and the many before and after it are much more uniform and satisfying to watch. And no offence to NASCAR, but there is a reason one sport is global and other is not :)
Okay so the reasn that NASCAR is not global because it was founded by a very American thing. I'm not gonna go into detail about that thing. F1 got lucky because it started out with many different drivers from many different countries. While NASCAR has what 43 Americans and 1 Mexican? I haven't watched NASCAR since 2018.

It's near impossible for non-North Americans to pursue a career in NASCAR if they don't have any solid background in racing in general. I do take an interest in watching it every now and then and it's extremely difficult for me, an outsider, to get any access to its content. There's very little similarity in how F1 and NASCAR work, I wouldn't compare them at all, one is an open-wheel category and involves challenging tracks which are very much different from each other. NASCAR too requires insane level of concentration and talent to be competitive and I don't doubt that. Guess some of my fanboyism for F1 came out when I read Paul's comment LOL.
