What's the point of quick races right now?
They're so short they can be won with no pit stops on wheel rims and very slow lap times vs a 2 stints strategy on fastest tyres.
They don't use drivers health, parts and engines.
And they don't even give exp anymore.
What's the point of all this?

Just for fun and for new players to get use to in-race management and tracks.

The only thing a newbie "learns" in quick races is how he can be competitive on finished hard tyres and make half of the pit stops others make to still win a race. Which is completely false in league races.
Quick races are currently deceiving for new players, not instructive at all.
Apart from that about new players, even for old and experinced players it's laughable to win or lose a quick race just because of their lenght if they can be won on wheel rims and no pit stops.
Just as many other things currently in this game, quick races are completely illogical cause they should at least have a lap count higher enough to compensate the pit stop duration towards a doubled fuel load and let pit stoppers on faster tyres and low fuel load at least fight vs the no stoppers on slowest finished tyres and heavy fuel load.
Quick races in Italy and Austria are the most hilarious ones. They scaled the tyre wear to race duration just like in league races and halved the number of laps but they forgot to take consideration of pit stops, which always have the exact same lenght no matter the race duration.
At this point, they could just give one tyre to every quick racer and the same fuel load to everyone, enough to finish a 10 laps race with no stops (if you want to make it quick at all costs), everyone on the same tyre (a special tyre just for quick races which would perform good enough for 10 laps) and the best one wins. Simple as that.
That would be a 1000x times better concept of quick race and new players could actually learn a thing or two on equal terms as others cause they would need to think about what to improve and where to get their hands in race management if they got a 10 seconds gap on the same tyres and same fuel load at the end of a 10 laps race.
What a new player currently does is entering for the first time in a quick race on softer tyres and getting a 30 seconds gap to the winner on H tyres and no stops. Then, he enters a second quick race on H tyre and maybe gets a win vs pit stoppers and thinks "woow I'm ready, that's how it'done, I can win races, lets go in some league I will show everyone how good I am". And he goes... Just to see everything he saw in quick races was completely wrong.
You also said "just for fun". Quick races are no fun. What's the fun in loading your car of fuel, picking the hardest tyre and being so slow in lap times and even slower lap after lap by the end of the race but still winning it by doing absolutely nothing all race long?

Tbh QRs are just testing grounds (finding where the DRS is, checking pit time, finding push level for an offline league) ATM... And you know what? For me that's fine. Even if they would be better 'races' at 5-10km longer at the current speed that would make them a lot less quick... In private races, scalable lap counts though? Yes plz

Igp is looking for developers, you should do an application...
