From what I have seen staff without a contract can no longer be bought unless they are placed on the transfer market automatically, I find this change stupid it was very useful to bypass the transfer market for small players who needed help on the game, also to be able to stabilize salaries and not end up paying astronomical sums for staff every run, I don't understand this change, I feel like it's just to annoy the players.

So could we go back to the old system which was very convenient ?

Fully agree. No idea what the devs were really thinking when they 9ut this in the game tbh...

Agreed. With the way it is now, It is almost impossible to get a good driver or staff at a lower level, they should’ve left it the way it was, If it’s not broken why mess with it.

I was hoping that when it hit the bottom there would be a push upwards instead you decided to dig. in Italy it is said that anyone who wants to wash the head of a donkey wastes soap and water time. mine is not anger but resignation
to entice the rookie and pro managers not to abandon I promised them a rider based on the position they obtained at the end of the season ... I will have spent 100tokens in total to find the riders ... now it can't be done ...

Such a bad decision from devs.

All my academy drivers will now have no home to go to as lower teams in my league cannot have them.

Being able to release staff for others to pick up was an absolute boon for when established managers wanted to help out smaller teams in their league.

I understand that the dev's need to combat unfair practices, as a small few ruin it for all. If the dev's are going to close off that loophole then what about adding an option to direct sell to another player? Then we can have the choice of auction and hope for the best or being able to release to a named team so long standing managers, like myself, can continue to help the newer teams as best we can.

if a manager wants to continue using this practice he continues to do so only that he spends 9 tokens instead of 3 .... but it won't be a problem .... then if I spend 100 tokens to prepare my CD I don't see why I can't pass it from one account to another.

I get that you can still do it but now it's 3x the cost. There are those out there that will see this option as money grabbing.

Guys, seriously? Is this some sort of competition to piss off as many players as possible? The dev who takes the worst possible decisions wins a prize? Really, I have no words...

in my opinion, who takes care of the economic part is Mikey Mouse, there is no other explanation. they would be able to bankrupt a company in three months

I'm out of words, really.

If the "sell now" option or the drivers/staffs without contracts were indeed being exploited, then you need to present us with a solution for a problem that 99.9% weren't even aware of, not straight up close the door without any previous warning!

I, for example, was having a problem as my drivers contracts ran out in a messy few races in the league. Thankfully José returned them to me, but it was after a few days. In the meantime I had promoted 2 young drivers to sell to someone in the league or just move them to another account, but now I have 2 new drivers that won't go anywhere until I can safely move them over, if this is even possible... ?‍♂️
As a big loss wasn't enough, I made the mistake of being off for a few days and lost a 5* CD ?‍♂️. Guess what? I can't even trust my shortlist to find a substitute anymore! ?

Summary:
You just threw into the bin 2 features of the game (sell now and shortlist);
Infuriated a lot of managers, if not all;
The 'problem' might still be unsolved as those doing this can also lookup for good drivers/staffs as soon as they go into the market in a matter of time and;
You haven't proposed a solution!

So we might have to wait months, if not years, waiting for a "feature" that hasn't been implemented yet or isn't even been developed at the very moment the "update"  was launched.

As Dave said, negotiating directly with the intended buyer might be a 'solution' for some cases, especially drivers for new managers, but it isn't good enough IMHO.

I really appreciate your work, but that's just a step backwards without a workaround solution ?

Anyway, if you intend to add a negotiation system, try not to copy Top Eleven as they have:
A cap for the very best football players to sell on their "great deals";
Has a restricted period to negotiate (only very late in the season) to "prevent" gains in using  multiple accounts by buying player at a young age and training it up;
Has a significant high cost to the system, giving few tokens to the intended seller and;
Has a limited amount of players available to buy.
Especially, P2W.

Personally for me, there are pro’s and cons to this update.  In essence it adds 6 tokens to transferring a driver or staff member which I believe is not the end of the world.

But I do believe this update would’ve been better if some other rules were added, like a maximum number of staff members or drivers to really counter the staff and driver hoarders. It only makes it a bit harder for them now while we all pay more tokens.

I don’t mind paying 9 tokens though, it’s for a driver or staff member, essential thing for a racing team so it’s understandable those come at a cost

Bad choice igpmanager...
Why don't you track who is calling driver's urls? Why don't you ban who is cheating?

At least you should make us able to filter all the transfers by stars and not show only 30 random drivers or staff.

in principle it is logical.
sending links to buy was a kind of abuse.
But I doubt that the developers will give commandmans the opportunity to get full profits from the sale of pilots at auction. Prepare your tokens)) No, prepare your money))

To me it is just a way the game can make more money, the more coins things cost the more people will invest real money into the game to get those coins. They realised that teams could transfer/pick up drivers very easily with only a small outlay and this wasn’t a big revenue generator.

I understand that the game needs to make money however the ways they do this appear to not be in the best interest of the players who invest the most time into playing it.

Gone are the days of the more experienced teams helping the smaller teams by ‘assisting’ with a T20 driver, like many of the updates recently I am struggling to see the benefits to the everyday player.

Threads like this deteriorate rapidly from constructive feedback in to talk about motives and mind-reading. We did the update today to stop farming scripts and apps, as simple as that.

Several of the accounts using these scripts have accumulated 50+ Chief Designers with the best possible attributes, as an example, totally unbalancing the game for everyone else. The scripts are instantly rendered obsolete by this update. We will decide separately what to do about those accounts, but that was all we wanted to achieve today.

Within a few days we hope to add solutions to any other suggestions that arise out of this change. E.g. One piece of constructive criticism after the update was that effort previously put in to shortlisting drivers and staff could not be utilised.

We've just deployed an update that makes it possible to sign any drivers or staff that you shortlisted before this recent update, so at least that concern should be addressed. This buys us time to continue working on other improvements.

As was mentioned in the changelog, there will be work done on the transfers list to improve the availability of the sorts of drivers and staff that people were looking for, but within the proper structure of how the game is supposed to be played.

The game was never supposed to be played by running 100 tabs in a browser, automating the input of various IDs in to the address bar, or even by manually doing such edits. That is all stuff you can't even do in the application versions of the game either, disadvantaging the majority of players. We'll work instead on the reasons people felt the need to do that (e.g. finding more quality drivers and staff on the market).

Thanks to those who put constructive feedback, we'll take all of that in to the subsequent updates (which will come within days). The situation at this exact point in time is only a temporary one. We want to get everyone playing the game properly, so first we wanted to shut down all the "silly" ways of playing it that involve scripts, loopholes, opening hundreds of browser tabs, typing in random URLs, or exploits (notice the trend in recent patches).

Now we're going towads improving the systems, like Transfers, so that people won't feel the need to do that to begin with.

I'll also respond to a couple of points to clarify further.

First I'll respond to the idea that we somehow make more money if trading drivers/staff goes through 'buy now' on transfers. We don't. Intentional trading between teams is low volume, a drop in the ocean of overall activity. If there were so many that it would be life-changing for us, ironically, that sort of volume would actually imply you could trade drivers/staff for just 1 Token. How? Look at the size of the transfers list; if there is such volume then all these hypothetical auctions won't fit on that list, meaning nobody else will see most of them. In an auction nobody else will see you can do one bid and get them for 1 Token.

The scarier prospect, apparently, is that these drivers and staff should start appearing on the transfer market. Heaven forbid, we see good drivers and staff on the transfer market. Yet we've been told forever that the reason exploits were necessary is that no good drivers and staff appear there, and now you're concerned that they will be there... I can't be the only one seeing the contradiction.

The main conclusion on those concerns then is we might get a better transfer market out of it. Not quite as alarming as it was made to sound.

Giovanni
Why don't you track who is calling driver's urls? Why don't you ban who is cheating?

It's not that simple. They can change IPs constantly, they can make multiple accounts. Activity can easily be disguised. This is also why a limit on staff won't work, if we limit staff, they just make more accounts.

There was no way to shut it down within a reasonable timeframe other than what we did. There is absolutely no workaround now, the scripts don't work and never will. It's a conclusion on that matter.

Giovanni

At least you should make us able to filter all the transfers by stars and not show only 30 random drivers or staff.

This is the kind of discussion we've been having about how to improve the system. We'll look in to it.

I think that a limit in number of staff can be an easy better solution...

I used this method 4 years ago in fact I'll tell you more I went looking for it by name or in the rankings of the older leagues. but 4 years ago a talented 20 driver was a mirage. now it is no longer needed and those who do it only have a lot of time to waste. as Simone said, it is enough to put a limit on the number of personnel. in addition, the contract could be changed from number of races to days in order to free the staff of inactive accounts.
