iGP Manager Basics, YouTube Videos

Hey guys I'm Justin and I've been playing iGP Manager now for about eight months and decided to make a series of YouTube videos to help out beginners.  The first five videos are heavily focused on beginners, and also I am not claiming to know everything about iGP, rather just wanted to provide what little assistance I could.  Building a solid foundation at low levels can really help in the long term obviously, and learning many of these tricks at low level can have an enormous impact on the enjoyment level for the rookies and their long term commitment to the game.

Again, I don't know everything, I'm just sharing what I believe to be accurate or close to accurate, and these are mainly for beginners.  If you've been playing iGP for more than 6 months I doubt you'll find even a single piece of information you didn't already know.

Anyway, that's my disclaimer and I hope some people find these videos useful, I know some people have already commented on them saying they learned a thing or two.

Something happened. I can't say for sure that it was these videos but Weekend Racing has seen five teams join in Rookie in the last 24 hours. Thats amazing!

my pleasure!  I've learned quite a few things myself in this whole process thanks to some comments on the videos :D

One thing ( a really important thing ) comes across in these videos and that is how much fun Justin is having with the game.
One thing is missing and that is how much more challenging a two car team is in the early stages of the game. Your funding just barely covers your team expenses by level 4. You have to put off hiring new drivers because of the expense. You may have to delay activating DRS for the same reason. You are not really secure financially until level 6. In game, keeping track of two drivers that may be on two different strategies and racing different opponents is also more challenging. And 100+ designers?! That is unheard of. Two car teams never have more than 83. You need the rest in engineering and mechanics just to get your parts on.

True Leslie, two cars teams must be much more of a challenge.  I've never been in a league with two cars.  Maybe when the game has some major updates Justin will take on the challenge to learn how to manage a two car team?

I've found an option that would be a huge help for beginners to manage a 2-car team. However, once that option is revised and updated, new players would probably once again struggle to operate a 2-car league. I also gained a lot of experience managing a 2-car team by trying it out on my other account, which I had to put on a hiatus due to other priorities.

Justin do you need advanced tutorials too? I haven't watched your videos yet but I've done lots of testing and i'm willing to help people with the results I've found. I'll watch your videos now PM me if you're interested and we can make a video together. 
As cocky as this may sound now, most of the managers that were on the 'elite' level now have stopped and I have trouble finding a league that's up to those standards. Don't get me wrong there are still very good managers I just think there aren't full leagues anymore with them. I'm hoping with some tutorials on the advanced stuff managers will get the final edge that just aren't there yet.

I plan to make more videos but honestly I need to learn more, there's been a good amount of information compiled on the videos in the comments so far and I plan to put it all to good use!  Also the information from this thread will be used for future videos as well.  I'm not sure if I'll have time to meet up to record, but I'm happy to credit any and all people who contribute information for future videos!

i only miss 1 important thing.
as explained here:

the live timing view has the option to overrule the strategy.
But i dont have these options. I tried with firefox and chrome. I only can watch, no way to influence the race during race.

Do i have to "research" this ooption, or is it available from a higher level?
any hints?

To bring up the pit strategy, in either the 2D live view, or Live Data View there should be an icon of 2 crossed renches in the bottom right. Click that and it should pop up.
