Hello,

I admin a league that is all friends that iRace together on the weekdays. We have run through a few seasons and at this point, all teams have been given the weight penalty in Rookie, the problem is that there is only a few of us so normal promotion/relegation won't exactly work considering there is only eight teams.

Would there be any way to manually promote all eight teams to Pro? We've just ended a season and won't restart for a few days.

(We really enjoy this game.)

Hello,

In March 2021, the support team stopped their service which would previously have allowed manual promotion/relegation (more information can be found here).
This change was implemented in order to encourage fuller tiers in leagues instead of having a lot of half-empty leagues.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

If all of the teams left and rejoined the league tab before the season started, would those teams likely be automatically put in the Pro category, or are they immediately dropped into Rookie with the expectation of working to promotion?

I understand the reasoning but it is a inconvenience considering there are only a few of us, but the league is quite competitive.

Hello,

When you join a league, you are automatically put into the tier that you were when you left your previous league. Unfortunately for members of your league, that means that leaving and rejoining the league will not make them automatically go up to the Pro tier.

There are 2 ways that you could promote everyone in your team to the Pro tier:

  • Add a lot of placeholder (spare) accounts into the Rookie tier and then wait a few seasons for everyone to be promoted. This is a good method as the placeholder accounts can then be re-used if you ever need to promote another few teams to the Pro tier, however, the biggest downside to this solution is that it will take a lot of time to create all of the necessary spare accounts.

  • The other (in my opinion) better method, is to all join different leagues and try to get promoted to Pro as quickly as possible - if you are already at level 8+, this probably won't prove to be too difficult, depending on which Rookie leagues you decide to promote through. This is a better method as it means you won't have to spend a whole bunch of time creating new placeholder teams, and also means that you can then promote from Pro to Elite in the same way in the future. The downside of this method is that it may take a few seasons for all your league mates to reach Pro, depending on how long it takes them to promote. If you choose to use this method, I recommend using a single placeholder account to prevent your league from automatically closing due to inactivity.
