League Rules are coming soon and moving along nicely in development. The rules that are being implemented on the first version are: Refuelling, two-tyre rule, point for fastest lap.

We want to ask how you would prefer to have them implemented? We can implement it so that the host can only change it for the next season (like race days changes), or we can implement it so that the rules can be changed during the season with a minimum notice period (like race time changes) and we could also restrict the number of times it can change during a season. Any changes to league rules can be announced in the news feed so everyone will see the change, this will be especially useful if they are done mid-season.

I prefer the idea of changes allowed during the season but limited to a single change per season. It offers flexibility to change for the next race right after the launch or during a season if the rules are not popular, while restricting how often the host can change it to a sensible limit. Not everyone on the team feels the same way though, so we want to put this to a poll.

Hello managers,

Personally I think the fairer option is the first one. These rules should be fixed from the beginning of the season until the end of the season, with no option for the host to change the league rules once the season has started. This inconsistency could be used as an advantage or to discourage managers who have already planned the car design and long terms plan. Imagine managers going hard with Fuel Economy investigation because the rule No refuel is on and then the league host turn Refuel on in the middle of the season, wouldn't it be unfair?

My vote was "next season", because it would allow anyone that disagrees to leave the league when the season ends.

And what if everyone in the league hates the settings of the current season? They have to stick with them for 3 weeks or however long the season is. They can just change them to something they prefer for the next race with the second option.

The same applies on the day that league rules launches. Using the first option nobody can change their league rules and will have to wait perhaps weeks until the season ends. If they can change it during a season, everyone can update their league rules on the day it launches and be using new rules the next race.

For anyone reading: This is why we're putting this to a poll, there is not a consensus within the team. ?

Hello Mr Basford,

In applying this rule for the first time the leagues should have time to adapt to these changes, I don't think anyone would want to see a competition change from one round to the next, imagine that in real motorsport!

Dearest Mr Trujillo,

F1 has done this many times in the past and continues to do so; notably with qualifying formats, as it is doing this season with sprint races.

Yours sincerely, Honourable Mr. Basford,

First of all I would like to mention that the F1 Sprint qualifying format is well known long before when and where it will take place. It is not acceptable that a host can decide one race before when to make these changes. What happens if the season has started with the no respect rule activated and therefore I develop a strong car on Fuel Efficiency and 10 races from the end of the season this rule is deactivated? You still haven't answered this question mentioned in previous comments.

According to the interview you did for TraxionGG you mentioned that the future of iGP Manager was in the world of esports. Do you think it is a serious move that the season starts with one set of rules and ends with another? I don't think this is fair to the managers competing in the league, it opens the door for possible profit for hosts who are not responsible and it is a potential source of disappointment and frustration for managers in the game. I am sure that managers prefer an atmosphere where competition is fair.

This is all roleplay, we've discussed this already internally! :P

Confirmed: iGP Manager rebranded to "iGP F1 Manager" with track copyrights as the 10th anniversary! ? ?

About the topic: I think the pre-season change is the way to go as most league rules and rule changes, at least the ones I've seen, are agreed in the previous season by all managers in Elite, or at least the majority of them.

If they don't like the league rules, they can complain with support ? ... or to make Jack happy, the host could have an option to revert the league changes within the first 3 races of the season, especially now with the new rules being, probably, massively used live (and bugged tested too ?)

Egu on! ?

As José said before, the best option is the first one. The rule should be apply for the whole season... So there won't be problems and the season will be fair for everyone.

Greetings! :-)

How about a pre-planned change of rules in the season. Let's say we're on Season 1, and you, as a host of course, are planning for the Season 2. Let's say, for the first 9 races of the 18-race season, you would, in advance, with the help of the allowed settings, implement the 'two-tyre' rule, and then for the 2nd half, it would change to the 'no refuel' rule. Again, those rules would implemented in advance and everyone shall be notified before the Season 2 starts. I hope you understand, and consider this :)

I agree. A host is also a competitor in the league, give them a strategic option to change rules during season and I regret to say but some will use it to their advantage

Bon dia! / Good morning!

I think we should be realist and personally consider that the host should only be able to change the rules for the next season (option 1). It's the most realistic way to get things done; not like currently the FIA does, changing things mid-season...

Sincere regards,

There is an option missing.  ‘League host should not be allowed to change rules’, i.e. keep the status quo and things like 2 tyre rule stays manual.

At least would allow those who don’t want to see this a voice

P.S. I voted for option1 ?

Good morning,

I voted for option A – Host can change rules only for the next season

In my humble opinion it allows all players to play on an equal conditions with the host. Also, make it clear that there will be fair play. This way, everyone in the League can agree and decide what kind of rule they want for next season. Long live democracy!

Thanks for reading me. I wish you have a nice day,

Greetings!

Only problem I have with the first option if it's like the schedule and can't be changed for season 1

I voted for option 1, then thinking about it afterwards, surely the more options you add to leagues is just going to cause more leagues to be made. There are currently too many leagues to match the active players, adding even more permutations to leagues is just going to make it worse as players can't find exactly what they want, they will start another.

Changes to the league system will follow at some point, probably in January. It should help to address this.

Can’t you code a system where you could reallocate Fuel Economy elsewhere in said scenario?
