With drivers it isn't the star rating you need to worry about, it's the Talent rating. In fact, a low level (low star) high talent driver would be a great purchase. Signing fee and wages would be low because costs seem to be linked to level.
The problem here is that the low star rated drivers in the market also appear to be very low talent. Like you say Harry, what's the point? Nobody in their right mind is going to hire them if they want to be competitive.
Steven. If you really are concerned with saving money, simply don't renew the contract of your driver. When the contract expires your driver will leave and you will automatically receive a low-level replacement.
Thanks for clarifying Kevin - I agree with that statement, people who want to be competitive shouldn't hire 1-star drivers
