iGP Manager 3D - Bugs mega thread

A lot of off-topic posts that were not bug reports were made yesterday, but they were well written and mostly respectful so I don't mind responding. I'll just write a general broad overview of where things are going to clear this up.


Nothing is being phased out. 2D will always will be in iGP Manager and it will always be the best mode for management. The long-term goal is to always offer a 2D mode and to integrate 2D in to the heart of 3D. It's not going anywhere and never was.

Reasoning by analogy is very limiting in terms of trying to imagine the future, I am seeing a lot of that and thinking too small about where we're heading. We're rebuilding what a game can be in this genre from the ground up, and that has to be done step by step when it's a live service. Sometimes those steps will seem out of sequence from the outside looking in, sometimes they won't seem to make sense, and you're not going to be able to connect the dots looking forwards and reasoning by analogy of what has come before.

Ironically, those most critical of the update are the ones who should be most excited about what it means is next. All of that energy they saw go in to 3D is about to go in to gameplay. I don't say any of this for anyone that is leaving to change their mind, those minds are clearly already made up. I say it for the people who are staying so that they can separate gossip/fiction from reality.

JNS 886 - In summary, it seems I offended you with the statement that critics are reasoning by analogy and how that results in small thinking about what each move means. Your post was fundamentally a perfect example of reasoning by analogy though ("you're trying to be like F1 manager" etc.). Anyway, I really appreciate your support but please try to keep it civil. I know you come here to voice an opinion because you like the game enough to do so. We are listening to everyone.

As for what is going on in the wider the community, it's much bigger than a league. Quiet players are happy players. The ones that are enjoying it are way more than those who aren't assume, because they can only see their own league and those who agree with them in the forum (people come to forums to complain, for the most part - you don't come here when things are going well). It gives a very skewed perception of what is actually going on. Here's some data: since we offered the choice between 2D and 3D among the existing community the selection has been approximately 75% 3D. For each person that has left because of 3D around 3 new people have joined because of 3D. All of these people are the community too.

We'll get on top of it and everything I've said about gameplay updates will be backed up with action soon. We're starting with tyres and will move through many of the suggestions you wanted to bring to my attention. Again, I appreciate your support and enthusiasm - you're only here and annoyed because you care, I completely understand that.

Could 3D launch have gone smoother? Of course, but I actually thnk it went a lot smoother than the games you mentioned and we operate with a fraction of their resources. I followed their launches with interest of course and one of them was still not very stable the last time I checked. We only had to do this once though, and now it's done it never has to happen again, just like becoming an app, something which was hugely positive for the game and the community in the long-run. I am convinced this will be too.
