Sure this is an opinion an not a bug report, but:
Did the release go smoothly? I don’t know how smoothless were others but this was anything but. It could be worse sure but there were *plenty* of bugs and glitches introduced not only on the 3d mode but on the 2d as well.
Very basic human errors such as the macos desktop app link misspelled are a bit wtf, really. I said before in this thread and have no problem repeating, it feels like zero minutes of QA were spent on this launch. This is not a lecture, it’s a factual feeling.
The new changes were announced with much fanfare back in December, then we had nothing but radio silence for almost 3 months until the silly update to change character’s faces (still not sex!) but no word about the much anticipated launch. Then, overnight with no previous notice, suspiciously on the very last minute of Q1, the new version goes live changing a lot of stuff i insist even for the 2d players with zero explanation of the changes on track layout, drs (placement and effectiveness), tyre performance and other substancial changes to the gameplay. Just thrown at us for everyone to guesslearn on the go.
All in all it’s obviously a launch on the edge of the “promised” launch date (2021 Q1 said the announcement in December) and it has been undeniably rushed. I’m on the same business and won’t tell anybody how to do their job but this was rushed and untested and we can all feel it. The very fact that this mega thread exists is a pure proof of it.
You have all my compassion and support and I have even spent real money here because I like what you do and I wish you keep it free and evolving. But shrugging the criticism because “there are a lot of happy silent players” is silly and insulting towards all the people who take their time to report bugs. Most of us don’t even know where to start.
I wish you all the success and hope the issues get resolved quickly, but please don’t keep saying this was a smooth release because it was one of the most rushed, unpolished untested ones I’ve seen in 20 years experience in development.
Cheers
