Is there someway to load this on a test before the actual race time?
Andrew Hurn medal 5000 11 years 241 days ago
Matt, you could spectate another race. It's under the iGP tab
Matt Shannon medal 5000 11 years 237 days ago
After installing the update, it did the same thing. Immediately went to the 2d viewer with no track showing. I could see the positions on the right, and my drivers info on the bottom left, but no track.
Spectating did the same thing, now I don't have any more free views. I don't have a problem subscribing, but not until I know it's going to work for me.

I seem to be having the same problem of a grey screen with a black boarder on the bottom and right hand side. I have the latest version of java (version 7 update 14) and have tried the links above but still no luck. Is there anything anybody can think of to help like a step by step guide or something would be much appreciated?? being paid for makes it quite to find out it dose'nt work.

Sorry for late, I haven't notice that you've replied.
I am using Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome
I have read about the links you've mentioned.
I will be posting in there about the java console report.
Something like this:Connecting...Exception in thread "Thread-16" java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("java.net.SocketPermission" "5.9.102.139:25010" "connect,resolve")
Sorry again for late.
Thanks for the help :)

Hello Abdullah. Are you still having this problem? Are you connecting through a proxy server? For instance are you on an office network?
Abdullah Hejazi medal 5000 11 years 157 days ago
Yes I am still having this problem and I am behind proxy server through my university.
I have tryed using my mobile Internet 3G to connect without proxy also and it didn't work.
It only worked when I played on other Computer.
Thanks Andrew Wiseman.
Andrew Hurn medal 5000 11 years 157 days ago
Abdullah, it is unikely that the game will work behind the proxy & conncetion via 3g may be patchy too sadly. Do you have access to another machine?
Abdullah Hejazi medal 5000 11 years 157 days ago
Oh :( no Edwin, I don't have access to another machine at the moment. I am sorry
but I will still be planning for the races and do the test runs as I always do until I find another machine.
Thank you all for your support <3
I will keep trying to find solution is it from the internet or from the computer :)

Well, I'm having the same problem here. The screen goes black and 2D doesn't work. I tryed IE, Firefox and Chrome, Java is up to date and I also tryed uninstall/install Java, Firefox and Chrome. It's very frustrating... Live timming and mobile works fine, can you guys help?
Using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Andrew Hurn medal 5000 11 years 127 days ago
Phill, Are you accessing the interent via a proxy? If so, you almost certainly will not be able to connect.
Some people have found issues with Java. You should check to see if you have more than 1 version on your machine. Actually I would recommend deleting them all, with a fresh installation of the latest version.
Some people have found issues with Kasperskey virus s/w. Disabling this has proved successful.
Let me know how you get on
There is plenty more info on the forum too.
Phill DePain medal 5000 11 years 127 days ago
Thank you so much for reply Edwin!
But no, I'm not connecting via a proxy and I don't have any older versions of Java installed, the computer is "fresh" formated a month ago. My anti-virus is Avast, free edition and I was using the same software and same OS before in another machine and it was working fine...
Again, thank you anyway.

Perhaps someone else could add something to help
Jake Goodhall medal 5000 11 years 126 days ago
Now this is interesting.
I have AVG on my home computer and everything works fine
I have access to a computer that runs Avast and no matter what I do I cannot watch a race on that one - so I am thinking it is maybe Avast. Will 'experiment' with the settings in the next few days and let you know.

@Phil - I've experienced a Java app doing this in Chrome on me. It would work in Firefox but in Chrome would just be black, I recently installed Bitdefender Antivirus, and don't know if that's related.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance, I know it says 'Developer' on my profile but I develop pretty much everything except the Java applet and simulator. I'll pass this on to our new Java developer, Chris, to look in to. It's about time we brought him out of the woodwork and on to the forums!
Kieron Shaw medal 5000 11 years 125 days ago
No pressure Chris! ;)
Chris Foster medal 5000 11 years 125 days ago
Ha, no pressure at all!
Hi Phil, could you try and run the 2D viewer and post the output from the Java console?
You can enable the java console by going to control panel>programs>java, opening the advanced panel and checking 'show console' under 'Java console', it should then pop up when you try and run the viewer.
Do you have similar problems if you try to run other Java applets?
@Jake, I'm also running avast and can use the viewer fine
Jake Goodhall medal 5000 11 years 125 days ago
Thanks Chris - I will have a look at the console and see what it is doing next time I am at that computer.
