I did state the temp was 18 degrees at Monza.

The fule. I asked Kay, Ethan and James if they had hit the pitting button and they all said no.

Also another point.

These managers who set up leagues and not even join it and race in it.. Why?

As a manager of a league, I feel it's my duty to run the league properly and get feed back from the ones in the league. I don't understand this, making a league and then joining another one without even running 1 race in their own.

Click leagues, Owners names and the leagues they are in and what league they have been apart of in the past. a lot have made their own and not even joined it.... weird.

Are there flaws in this game? Of course there are. It is still a very young game and not run by professionals (like the mentioned EA and Codemasters e.g.) The devs are doing a pretty good job from what I can tell, as there are real world problems this company has to deal with. If 100% of their time was spent on improving this game, it would already be better.

Am I disappointed, because Q2 update is still in the pipe? Sure, I'd rather have it sooner than later, but look above... Therefore I think we should at least wait until Q2 update is applied to continue with some of that pretty harsh critics. I personally don't see a real need for iPad/iPhone/iWhatever app (or other systems), but I don't think all the work goes into that. I assume the adaptions and smaller improvements will be done anyway, they are just not explicitly listed.

If phone/tablet apps will help to get more players or keep the existing ones, we should have them. Fact is, more and more people own smartphones/tablets and are perhaps more likely to play this game during their lunch break, train ride home, ..., if they won't have to use their pc. Which options should be available there is another discussion.

2D F2P: I think there should be a way to see tyre temps/wear and fuel, even if you are not a subscriber. The free trails are probably used in the first 3 races, when you have no idea what to look for (was at least my problem). Then, once your team is competitve enough, you can't use those trails any more and this makes it pretty difficult to improve. I agree, if everyone gets 2D, there is no reason to subscribe and I am not having a solution for that problem yet. We would need other features that will be worth the money, imo it should be a mixture of "fun to play with" features (better livery maker, more details on staff and factory, ...) and "need to have" features (things that will give you an advantage in performance).

I personally wouldn't mind to seeing adverts on this page, if it helps gaining money. Why not a "Throw da fone Grand Prix of Great Britain"? Perfect would be, if you could get real companies to sponsor your team (and iGP in general). That way, you'd also have to do something to get them as a sponsor.

I have previously paid for subscription, but due to lack of funds have not resubscribed in a while.
when q1 patch came out i was happy about the extra features but without seeing my fuel and tyre temp I see no reason to login for the race. I just cross my fingers and hope for the best. If I could see my tyre temp and fuel then I would definatly attend.
I notice quite often that my drivers pit early with enough fuel for 2 laps and a little left over.( not due to worn tyres, changing weather or changing the push)
This means that I have to do an extra pit per lap and lose out on positions.(flaw in game)
David Lyons£3 is equivilant to a bottle of alcohol. which 90% of our community consumes regularly. Maybe if you got your finger out and stopped drinking or smoking, you'd realise you had more money than you claim you do.

2D will always be subscriber, we arn't losing anyone if you decide to leave mate. These posts are tiring to read as it's repetitive. You play the game for free and want everything for free. If you want to use these features, get your finger out your arse and pay for it like the rest of us.

Rob already said that he pays for a subscription so that is a null and void post.
I am looking at resubscribing but with some big flaws in the game such as the fuel issue i mentioned above and track data being wrong as rob pointed out I see no reason to be spending my money.
I belive that the time spent on the q2 update could be spent on these issues first.
no point in expanding the game if the game dosent work right in the first place.
there are plenty of people out there that dont usually like to post in the forums that have the same issue.
I await the backlash of my post from the fanboys
PS I do love this game and will resub as soon as I hear that bugs and errors are going to be fixed

Don't skim read and make comments. It makes you look silly.

I PAY into games. I've just paid into Goal United.. and I pay in this each month since December. So your point is?

The bottom line is if you still give paying users advantages (such as leveling up faster etc), free users are still going to complain about their disadvantage and we're back to square one

Errr no not at all... Again. Read the posts please.

there are bugs that can be sorted in the 2D but not the live timings. Like the fule ammounts / pitting with to much fule or running out / Tyre heating and so on. You can see and make changes on the fly.

Take a game like Shot Online. It's a golf game and the core part of it is the golf it's self.

The extras are better clubs, better balls, exclusive courses that F2P can't go on and a lot more.

BUT...

If you can't hit the power and stop points correct on the bar, then it doesn't matter how much you pay in to it, if you suck, you suck.

I paid in to that game a few times but on the main, I was a free player and I beat so many paid people, just through being a decent player.

Well as far as I'm concerned if they give free users 2D, 90% of people will stop paying for this game. I might sound blunt but it's the truth, so I doubt it will ever happen.

It sounds to me like the live timing board just needs a bit of work, not that everyone needs 2D.

I mean hell, if they made the live timing include tyre temps, pit box strategy changer (like the one in 2D) and a manual kers button, I wouldn't be paying for 2D now. I only bought 2D for two of those functions - Tyres temps and kers control. If they were included in f2p, I wouldn't pay.

In my 1st post.

Paid accounts should have bonus content !!

1 or 2 % extra per development....
1 extra slot for a full time test driver...
10% extra KERS..

In my 3rd post.

I would like the main issues (in which there are still quite a few.) sorted firstly, then more levels of depth put into the game for subscribed members. Once they have been added, 2D given the F2P.. Once they have been sorted. Then move on to the other parts, like tablets, mobile apps and so on.

So more web development and depth in to the game is needed. If this game is using flash, then lets see it. Subscribers should see their factory and facilties grow as you add more building and then improve them to a higher level.

______________________________________________________

The main issue is that some of the main parts need addressing and Quarter patches are not good enough. They should be addressed, sorted and then move on to the next one. If they can't fix it straight away, Like the live timings, they told us and was upfront about it. but then. I would rather see tyres working correctly on each track before I get timings.

I have just raced tonight and It was an average wear track with 38 degrees. It was taking it easy on hards. Thats fair enough, but last week, it was Monza (picking out this one because it's the most obvious to be seen.) at 18 degree on a low tyre wear track. I was on full backing off from pits and they heated to optimum with in 3 laps and carried on heating up until they was bright red with in 10 laps.

There are some other tracks as well.

Monaco. You can never use hards, no matter what the temp is. Softs are holding or pushing all the way, depending on the track temp. Thats it. Race done..

I think Q3 should be the 2D for all the users and then a load of material content for the subscribed members.

I just don't see how giving 2D to f2p players is a good idea. I don't see how you can make it worth subscribing if there is no advantage. You'd still run into the same problem with f2p players getting bored if the paying subscribers did have extra advantages (like the ones you suggested earlier on) because there will simply be less chances for them to win, which is exactly the same as the current situation. There is no way to keep the playing field level and expect people to keep paying if they don't gain anything from it.

I mean don't get me wrong, I for one don't think f2p players should be put at a disadvantage, but I just don't see how they can gain subscribers if there is no advantage in subscribing, so I can see why it works the way it works now.

So simple to fix. Right in front of your eyes. F2P players need separate leagues to paid members.

That way, paid members can have whatever advantages are seen as acceptable compared to F2P members, but the playing field is always level.

Personally I'm quite happy to run with live timing and basic controls, but knowing that other people in the same race can see tyre temps of all cars and this and that extra facilities really saps my enthusiasm. I've barely been interested this last month or so.

I can work my socks off on development and planning but nothing seems to move me up the grid and there's so few clues as to what might help.

BTW I'm in Rob's league. He runs it so well, offering advice to lowly performers and listening to complaints about missed pit stops etc. I've never had a problem myself with running out of fuel, though. He's genuinely concerned about everyone getting enjoyment and, for those who missed it, HE PAYS FOR THIS GAME. For all of the preceding, he gets to complain and be heard better than people like me, I say.

Now, the essential point he's making is that paid members should not get access to more FEATURES than free members, but rather they should receive ENHANCED game rewards. Race day should be the same for all - paying should simply ease your off-track experiences.

As someone who has had many races screwed over by the bugs in this game I can't aggree more on what Rob is saying.

(''Driver passing the pits with less than the ammount they need for a complete lap and running out of fule 3 corners from the pits (and no they didn't change from backing off to pushing)''

Don't run bingo fuel then, add 1L to your stints or find a better way to work out a strategy.)

I have had this happen several times to me. 1 time I was leading a race and it almost made me want to stop playing cause I have to wonder, how the hell do you screw something like this up. I had a great strategy going and for whatever confounded reason, one of my drivers passed the pits with less than 3L in the tank @ Nurburgring for no apparent reason. I never told the driver not to pit, the driver just sailed past the pit entry despite haing next to nothing. They stopped at the exit turn 1.

Then just last Sunday, I had to leave my house @ 6pm and we had a race start at 9pm. I was only able to get home for something like 10:30pm because of work and when I did my setup, it was heavy rain so I set it so my drivers would qualify on Full Wets. When I get home and login to 2D, Rob tells me it dried up 40mins before lockdown. Well that meant I was screwed cause the game currently doesn't adjust setups to suit conditions. I'm not saying tha game should make setups (though the default setups that game automatically puts on are a joke and should be improved, sometimes work gets in the way and I'm home too late in order to do setup because something un-expected happen during the day) but the game ought to realise, "Oh the track is bone dry and this team who made a setup 3 hours ago are on wets, better switch them to the Hard tyre." Now that is something that should be implemented.

But hey ho. It isn't and I came home to find that by about a third through the race, my drivers had been lapped casue they started the race on the full wets and pitted at the end of lap 2. Guess what side of the argument for renewing that gets chucked onto.

On the side of giving the F2P guys the full 2D, hell yes they should be given it because then they their own level playing field. You show me someone in a good league, running in Elite tier that would be able to win races without 2D? Guess what this is, it's "Pay to win" effectively. Currently your selling power and that is a no no, but currently that is how it is.

I play TF2, fantastic F2P gaem and I got into only last year. Yes it wasn't free to play at first, but coming in as F2P noob in Octobler last year, I was amazed to find that there were zero shackles. Nothing. I could eaisly play against some of the best and not be at a disadvantage gear wise. Here, you are if your not paying for 2D.

I've seen my brother play many MMORPGs where there were huge areas locked off because he hadn't bought into the game. This reduces the enjoyment so he dropped it after he got bored. Guess what happens to most people who played this. You either got bored and left, bought into the game (Buying Power imo) or you struggle along with no proper controls during races watching live timing.

2D NEEDS to be given to everyone. Now you say "Well if you give everyone 2D then why should I subscribe and pay for the game" which is a very valid point and it's the biggest thing the Devs for this game need to answer.

One possibility is acess to things that don't make you faster, but might give you more info. Like for instance increasing your options when it comes to training drivers. The ability to put more sponsors on your car. Allowed more staff, slightly faster design progress. None of this will make anyone so fast that it'll unbalance the game, but it adds in certain elements some people will pay for. I would if they would sort out all the buggy stuff. Also if they improve 2D an then make a pay version and a free version then that would also be great.

All this broading stuff needs to be put to one sdie for now and the game itself, the thing we all want to play, needs some refienment. We all want to play this game, as someone who played the old GP Manager games on old Windows 95 and 98 systems (this one
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_Manager) I would've loved for that to have an online mode. But at not even 15 when I played it on my families' old beige brick, I would've been bad but my older brother would've been ace at it cause he's good at that sort of stuff.

None of us want any advantage, we just want a cool F1 online management game. I play this game as a sde to my compitive sim racing so I just want to have fun, not to be stressed out when shit hits the fan cause the game has bugged out.

Look, guys, giving everyone the full 2D just isn't going to happen unless the devs build a new version with car shapes, telemetry, and so forth which will render the current 2D system obsolete. Maybe what they do is add tire/fuel status displays to the intermediate F2P timing screen as an appeasement.

As for the dry/wet tires thing, the alternate weather strategy system could use some added refinement - but saying that the system should AUTOMATICALLY choose the right tires for you based on weather conditions is somewhat foolish, as that takes out a good chunk of manager strategy. The obvious solution is as simple as changing the alternate weather screen to have separate lines such as:

Dry track starting tire choice: Hard/Soft

Damp track starting tire choice: Full Wet/Inter

Wet track starting tire choice: Full Wet/Inter
...and then specify which tire set to switch to when the rain stops (assuming the weather system is refined to allow transitory track conditions instead of either full wet/full dry).

As for the other issues, there are still some things to be worked out (such as cars using DRS when they're in the zone while a car ahead of them is on the pit lane). But you guys seem to be accusing the devs of ignoring these issues to focus on bells and whistles. Pardon me, but that's insulting, and moreover makes you look like a someone with entitlement issues. At the end of the day this is a consumer product under development. It is your choice to remain as a consumer or go elsewhere - free country, and all that.

I'm not a fanboy - just someone who has been part of a gaming software development cycle or two. And let me tell you, what some of you may consider to be harmless venting is the kind of stuff that makes developers who are doing this almost exclusively as a labor of love decide that it's not worth it.

Well the bottom line is, I guarantee 90% of users who are subscribing at the moment only subscribe because of 2D and the fact that it allows you to see your tyre temps and change strats on the fly a lot easier. I could almost dare say that 75% of people would stop paying if 2D became free, even if there was extra perks (all the ones you guys have listed)

As a paying user myself, I wouldn't second guess cancelling my subscription if 2D became free. It's the only reason I pay for this game at the moment.

Extra fast design, livery builders, extra info in game - None of this matters to me. I only buy 2D to see my tyre colours, and I bet many others are the same.

The only thing I can honestly think of that would keep me paying for this game if 2D was free, would be if subscribers got some kind of extra "on track" testing - Not just extra test runs, but I mean the ability to open any track at any time (in 2d) and run some test laps on various fuel loads and tyre compounds to try things.

this game already has a few issues and i have only been on it for 3 weeks now, about to use the live viewer later today. no game is perfect, its a fact of life that nothing is. some developers and game makers intentionally want you to spend money for that new shiny item they put in front of you, more often then not, you grab at it and get to use it until another new shiny comes along to keep you spending. im a long term member of another f1 management game and registered there, they dont have live 2d viewer or all that fancy stuff but i subbed with them because they deserve the extra money to make their game even better and because it is basic and no nonsense.

i am not here to cause another arguement, but just my own opinion, the 2d viewer is the only thing going for the devs on this game of theirs, fair enough, but at some point that may have to change or be left behind with just a core group of fanboys. recently on the gaming market there has been a wave of subscriber devices and items going to the free market simply because the sub market was detrimental to their success. a different marketing strategy could see the 2d viewer become free to everyone but have adverts put on before the race starts with no way to shut down the window in those 10 or so seconds, that way the game devs get constant money and everyone else is happy. but its just my opinion as stated.

the rest of it looks good and polished, so a credit to the devs there, but a few areas are lacking considerably, ovbiously its everyones hope the game improves but that depends on how the developers of this game feels about their direction.

Ok these 2 comments show that you don't know this game at all then.

Literally LOL.

Yeah, I must be a complete newbie me...

When you're done prancing around on your high horse of everyone-shut-the-F-up-and-listen-to-me, either play the game or just leave. Why people like you have the logic to play a game and then spend all your spare time crying about how rubbish/broken it is, is beyond me.

First Of all guys plz calm down, We are here to try and understand the suggestion rob is making ok? not getting a war beetwen subsribers and unsubscribers...
Second Yeah rob it's true that it's a great advantage for the subs to have the 2d and the possibility to make decision during the race that can actually change a lot of the results of it. It is also true that the ideas you gave ( quote "Paid accounts should have bonus content !! 1 or 2 % extra per development....1 extra slot for a full time test driver... 10% extra KERS.. ) are defnatly great and i also do believe that the management team behind this is taking that in concern. But there is also the other side as the guys that are comenting here are saying, i believe that actually 90% of the subs are only subed cuz of the 2d...
So that's why i propose the following, i had this idea since the beggining that i am here and instead of start hating in the game i talked with the leaderboard. The Idea was instead of giving non subs the full 2d they could give the live gas and tyre percentage panel but without the screen, only with the times. I guess it would be better and the only thing that the unsubs would loose was the chance to know where on the track their car is...

I think that would go a long way to solving the issues the Free 2 Play players are dealing with.

I think that people are skim reading a lot and then making their comments.

The main part was to give the F2P players the 2D as soon as possible. This does not mean today, this week or even this month, but once other parts are put into place.

Wether you like it or not, F2P are as big apart of this game as the subscribers.

Ok not everyone will pay in it, but they will in turn tell others and bring in as many players as the subs and the ones they bring in with have subscribers with them.

So when people are quitting over the game because of issue. It's actually hurting this game in the long run.

Before I posted this, I had a list of ideas for the Q3 patch and was watching the suggestion section and what ideas i've seen in other F2P Browser games to add to the list.

I should post that up and see what feedback I get from it.

Thanks for the reply Antonio. Good post.
