Same here in Catalunya, must be game wide...

It's related to the google weather api and therefor it's game wide.
Just as Jack said, this will be improved in the Q1 patch.

Related to this topic. During the first stint of our race yesterday I noticed the entire fields tires suddenly turn bright blue. I looked at the weather logo in the corner and it was broken. When I brought up the Weather Station it said -15c Unknown. This lasted for several laps and then suddenly changed back to 15c.

I'm assuming this was just a problem where iGP lost it's weather source data?

Merged all threads this to try out the new merging system in a live situation. It worked a charm. :)

A little update: I have been experimenting with the new weather API which will I'll be using for the Q1 patch. The Unknown weather will be gone (as mentioned previously) and more detailed information will be available, such as air pressure, rain levels, visibility and a 10-day forecast rather than the current 4-day forecast.

The weather is of course still totally realistic (unpredictable at times), but we will be taking steps to give managers more time to react, by reducing the gap between preparation being locked and the race start.

Anyone with a sub will be able to see the rain visually too. For those who didn't catch it, we recently tweeted a preview of the new visual rain coming in the Q1 patch (best opened in full-size, since it's heavily scaled down).

Unpredictable weather isn't a bad thing in the race, but before the race it's a nightmare. I have been watching the forecast for tonight's race viligantly, and it has been a thunderstorm for at least half an hour, if not longer, but as soon as preparation was locked, the thunderstorm stopped and it was sunny :(

Yeah, at EXACTLY the lock point. I wonder how on earth 2 teams knew and sent their drivers on softs ?!? I suspect something dirty here.

It didn't quite, though - it seems to have reset the thread post counter, so now it's only displaying the number of posts that have been made since you merged the threads.

Yes, I was merely venting my frustration that when this happens, then it throws the whole race completely. Those who were diligantly watching to give their team the best chance at qualifying and racing in the conditions closest to the time, as well as having a decent setup for the same reason lose out, and have no chance of catching up to teams that might not even be there, like what happened last night. Unless the weather changes in the race, giving us a chance to react better, then we have to settle for a mediocre position, as opposed to actually fighting for the top spots.

Jamie, do you understand how the two teams knew it was dry ? I don't.

My reckoning is that when (or if) they did their setups, it could have been straight after the last race, or at a time a long time before the start of the race, meaning it might have been dry for them, meaning that they would have been on dries because that's what it was at the time.

OR, if they did not do any setup work, then they would have had the default dry setup anyway. Either way (more so the first way) it gave them an advantage solely based on luck rather than vigilance.
