@Nik B

I'm happy to discuss the format here, it will generate more publicity, and potential popcorn munching! xD

I agree, a new league would be preferable..all managers could then start off their cars from scratch, and race for the 2 to 3 seasons, to find out who is faster! :D

Regarding the seasons number I can do, 3 would be good, possibly 4, depending on my schedule around the Christmas period. I currently race in 2 leagues, and will commit to those leagues, so a 3rd league, and active account won't be sustainable for lets say 5 seasons or more.

Regarding the distance, I believe 75% distance would be better, as an indicator of skill and relative push levels with different compounds. From my experience in racing in both 100% and 75% in the new tyre era, I have found 75% distance offers more scope and variance in strategies on the tyre compound front. At 100% distance, apart from 3 tracks, it is predominantly 3 stops, Softs all the way.

75% allows the main 3 compounds (Supersoft, Soft and Medium) to be viable tyres, conditions depending. The Mediums in particular, heats up and operates very similar to the old 'Hard' era tyre, so would provide a good test for all managers, in relation to how each person pushs :)) (The old 'Hard' tyre really separated the men from the boys in the old era, todays Soft tyre, are 'simplier' to manage'

Racetimes :) I can accommodate at race time start between (inclusive) 15:00 BST to 17:00 BST (14:00 UTC to 16:00 UTC), this would be 22:00 to 00:00 Malaysian time, I believe, unless I'm mistaken, for a schedule Monday to Thursday. No longer can do Fridays, due to real life commitments..I am actually writing this now on a coach! xD)

After 19:30 BST (18:30 UTC) would be a struggle, as I do not have a particularly strong wi-fi connection after this time (Library wi-fi ius amazing for this game, but library closes at 20:00 BST (19:00 UTC) The time also for you, would be in the middle of the night.

Let me know your thoughts. I'm sure there will be enough players who will join, when everything is set up. Afterall, they want the best seats in the house for this popcorn show!

Possible league names:

Nik B vs Peter Man vs Friends: The Face Off!
Clash of the Titans
iGP Heavyweaight Divison

And lastly I have no issue with lower reps joining, although some managers interested may want a minimum Reputation for entry (Perhaps 8000+?) My intention would be to use a 9500 Rep account, Level 19, same level as you :)) Main thing for me, is a full, or full-ish league :) 2 cars as well would be my preference :)

I am dead after a very hard week at work so I just skimmed through this thread.

Cheers Peter for clearing things up.

I just want to say that I got a very nice mail and apology from Nik B, which I accepted 100%!

I think the idea of settling all this in the racetrack sounds like a great idea! Hopefully I will have reached elite by that time and could join in, would love to race against the best. Otherwise I guess I can always catch the spectacle on youtube ;)

Cheers!

I just find it really sportsmanlike the way two great players settled all the differences aside in such a manner. As for the league, it would be amazing to watch and learn from you guys. Please keep the community updated, it would be amazing to see you guys race in one league. I'll make sure to buy the grandstand tickets as soon as they come out!

More publicity for the planned league though, if done through here ;)) And besides, it's fair to say me and Nik B are not friends! xD

But this can be settled on the track :-))
