How about it is linked with engine condition as well since you'd probably explode an F1 engine if you randomly put it in reverse!?

Pls, let us first discuss the option about something which makes you slower for a short Time... then we could talk about exploding engines😉

And pls, as you can see I am German and maybe „reverse“ is not the ideal word, but I didnt know another word which describes my idea. But normally, people with a bit materia between their ears, will be able to figure the intention of that suggestion.
The other ones will just post senseless comments✌️

So pls post constructive comments (pro/Contra)

This current situation is the same sort of thing that happens in everyday racing.  If we want to do things to improve this in line with everyday racing, weird KERS that actually does a different "R" word (Reduction, not Recovery) would be both meta and mean that it would just put the breaks on more and actually recover that Kinetic Energy, which would be a major coding headache for the devs, but not a bad thing for the current boost system.

In the end, it would be easier for devs to programme in another boost level that just tells the driver to use a complete lead foot on the breaks in my opinion.  Thus, that is what I would advise, considering that is what actually happens in real life...
