Let's be honest, this update was rushed. But I'm sure most of the DRS/KERS/etc issues will be fixed soon enough. I would have never even thought of them ever doing an update this big, and with a deadline quickly approaching, of course there are gonna be a lot of bugs. I did do a race at France today in 2D, and it was mostly normal.

Why on some tracks (Germany, Spain, Hungary ...) there are now very short DRS zones (although there are longer straights on these tracks)?

Belgium has now got one thar is so short its usless!! Same with Japan

Yeah, DRS in Belgium is very bad...

I’m sure it’s been mentioned, but I am sooo not a fan of the new track layouts. The ones so far for me that I just can’t stand is Azerbaijan and Belgium. I have only looked at a handful but those are definitely the most different compared to their irl counterparts. Is there a particular reason this was done? Legal reasons? 3D track reason? Just don’t quite understand it yet unless I missed something explaining all of it. But yeah, I am not a fan to say the least. 😅 But I will say, I think the 3D viewer has lots of potential, and riding on board with my car in Valencia was pretty cool!

Legal reasons, we don’t own the licenses.

How could you use them before? Because it was 2d?
Also, some of the old tracks were inaccurate anyways (Spain for instance, they are getting a new layout for this seas) so couldn't you have just kept them?
Anyways, well done on an amazing step forward (once it's fixed)

Hello Rhys,

It’s more complex than it seems, we prefer to just keep inspiration and avoid legal troubles.

You don't need me to tell you have badly it has gone but my personal opinion is 3D will never work on mobile unless we have additional info like a minimap With drs zones. On pc it's a great idea as you have the space for such data, 2D will always be preferred as you can see the whole race and where the drs zones and other racers are on the track it just makes sense. Two months from now once you have fixed 3D 95% of players will not even use it so your efforts are for what? Many managers have left due to the lack of actual gameplay fix's or no new features, you have a forum full of fantastic suggestions. You think you know what's best for the game but you're wrong us players are what makes this game and you have just alienated most of them, I beg you please give us some info on what features and fix's you're working on hope is a powerful emotion and currently there is none so a little info would go a long way to to making this game great. stick to what it is and that's a manager game not a sim racer, once you have made a great manager game then turn it 3D I'm 90% sure everyone is will to wait if we know what we are waiting for.

Please get a 3D top down view, 99% of 2D players would use that, the only reason we don't use 3D is we can't get top down with details

Hey Leo,

Thank you very much, this kind of message is very well appreciated in the studio. This is the extra fuel we need now as motivation. ❤️

Sorry this is a little long, but it comes from the heart...

There is a reason we all race here rather than MM. We all tried MM but hated the gimmicky fakeness of it and left it to the children to play there while the adults came to race here. We have people from 15-60+ years old in our league who all LOVE this game and spend decent money to upgrade accounts and try new things as the gameplay was stable and fair. That’s another 30 solid years of £5’s from me alone!
This update feels like a poor attempt at copying the competition. Fair enough, let’s do the 3D thing, but the races feel so fake now (like the other place) and is the reason we uninstalled that one.
Qualifying, tyre evolution, tweak drs zones SLIGHTY... that’s all the experienced members asked for. The new graphics are awesome, I’m not denying that, but don’t get caught up in trying to be something you aren’t.
This is a mature, strong single malt whisky worth £30-50 per bottle. Yes, Whyte and Mackay sell more units, but it is cheap sh!t.
Please don’t lower your standards to please the kids, it’s not your style or what made the game so special ❤️

At least make it more accurate and change the runoff and simplify the track

We're not. I completely understand that 3D racing seems unimportant to the more seasoned hardcore managers who are here for the simulation. The simulation is not going to change or be watered down, it's only going to get more detailed and have more depth now. The rest of this year will be spent increasing depth of gameplay and addressing all of the concerns raised by the more seasoned managers.

The most difficult thing about the last year has been having to keep our plans secretive. We do not operate in a vacuum, we operate in a competitive marketplace with a fraction of the resources of some of our competitors. Had they known our plans well in advance, their deeper pockets would have been used to cover them off. We accepted that we would have to spend a few months living with a great deal of misunderstanding, well demonstrated in your post, I might add. If you want to know where I stand on the state of the genre: Every other game has converged on the same idea and the same model, and I'm just as unimpressed as you by what they offer. Don't worry, that is not where we're going. We're moving in a completely different and original direction, but before we do that we had to lay the foundations for it.

We knew 3D would temporarily cause a lot of turbulence, just as the app launch did in 2017, but these are vital steps on the road to where we are going. I can only apologise if it looked like we were having a wobble from the outside, we're not. Other than some of the issues we faced with the rushed rollout everything is going to plan. We had to launch when we did for various reasons - anyone who says they would have delayed has none of the external forces and factors at play in their decision making proces, of which there are many.

As soon as we're stabilised, we're turning our focus fully to gameplay. It won't take long for us to address most of the things you want addressed as a priority. Over the next year things will come full circle and completely make sense. I am convinced we will win even the biggest skeptics over. As always, we appreciate everyone's feedback and passion for the game. We're more aware of them than it might have looked in recent months, for all the reasons outlined above.

Maybe make IGP 3D for PC only and IGP 2D for mobile. That way you can still update for iOS 12 "1GB edition"

I understand what you're trying to do but you're doing it wrong, first rule in business, make something people want and in your case fix bugs add new elements and new features to the GAMEPLAY! once you have a good game then no one will care you messed up 3D, I don't understand why you chose 3D before actual gameplay?: Blows my mind don't forget hats before 3D literally NO ONE wanted 3D or HATS. As a android app creator I have also made this mistakes I created something that I like and thought it was amazing but the reality was I wasted time, money and effort for something my customers didn't really want. The morale of the story is PRIORITISE and make better choices .

I tried to explain what is going on so you don't have to waste time on posts like this. This is not anything we don't already know. We're prepared for this and it's all part of the plan and a compromise we accepted. As you said, we had to prioritise.

Hey devs,

I just wanted to say well done to you all. Look, of course there are some bugs here and there, but this is a huge step for the game, and I'm loving the 3D visuals, and the new concept. And as mentioned before, the gameplay issues will be ironed out. So keep the work up guys, I'm sure the bugs and issues will be eliminated, and the game carries on being the best formula one manager there is. I love this game.
