Hi Josh, Java 8 is fully supported now (we added support since my last post). You should just need to go here and install the version of Java that this page gives you now:
http://java.com/download. Some of the advice in my above post remains valid though - make sure you have the 32-bit version installed if you're using a 32-bit browser, and a 64-bit version installed if you're using a 64-bit browser.
Have you checked that your browser(s) themselves are not blocking Java applets? Most browsers now do this by default as a standard security procedure to prevent dangerous applications on untrusted websites from running on your computer. You typically have to provide permission to each new website you visit to enable Java, and even then additional confirmation dialogues appear. If you answer anything other than the affirmative to any of these, it won't run.
Also, when you launch the viewer, leave it open for 5 minutes the first time you load it and see if it appears. You would normally see a loading screen, but perhaps you aren't seeing the loading screen for some reason and are closing the applet before it loads.
In summary - you really shouldn't be encountering any of the problems you are now. Other than installing Java (using the link above) if you don't have it, there shouldn't be any more steps to accessing the race viewer.
The livery builder is using the Unity browser plugin. There is only one thing (other than not having Unity) which may cause that not to run - make sure you use this URL for the livery builder
http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-livery. If you try to access the page with a
https rather than
http url prefix, it may not run. I suspect this may be what happened in your case, assuming you have the Unity plugin installed.
Thanks for your support. I will help you get to the bottom of the issue.
