The trouble devs will face is that the experienced, championship winning managers can compete in elite at lvl 14-15 but new managers are learning the game up to lvl 19 and beyond. So anything to cap lvl 14-15 managers making it to elite will frustrate experienced, loyal managers the game is build upon, but as it stands the PRO isn't good enough to teach new managers and elite is too much of a step up. One way to potentially combat this is designated training leagues (E.G leagues for only lvl 12-17s run by the community etc, or else leagues with game experience recommendations on them) to let the new managers learn. Another option is level limited leagues where by joining you get 'capped' to that level (similar to the old ballast and useful for special competitions such as inter -leagues and custom chanpionships). However, a danger with this is creating a dead zone with the wrong balancing, similar to the current PRO>ELITE step but earlier and without the managers being established and loyal to the game.
Still, just thoughts, we can't know what they are planning. ?

Sounds simlilar to what I’ve suggested before with a few differences.  I suggested igp auto hosted leagues for newer players and one of the issues that I wasn’t able to resolve is that newer players can learn a lot by racing with more experienced players.  League or promotion caps would remove this benefit.  However, you have suggested a potential solution to this especially since the current situation to leads to players quickly becoming frustrated with the game and quitting.

At the moment I see lots players around level 7 to 9 battling for promotion from Pro and even if its a weak league they are oblivious to what awaits them in Elite (my alt account is level 18 and is in a very strong Elite league.  i am constantly at the back of the field with no real propsects of improving this in the short term).

The other issue is newer leagues where almost everyone who makes it to Elite is a low level.  This is fine while they are racing in their current league, but once they leave, the game doesn’t take into account their low level of lack of race experience in terms of what league they can then join.

@Hayden, no offence intended, but unless the Elite tier of your league is very weak it will take more than a few seasons for you to be able to compete for a pts finish let alone win a championship!

A cap with an option to opt for promotion or to stay…I.e Using lvl 16 as the cap, a manager with a lvl 15 account up for promotion gets a message at season’s end ‘You might be unable to compete at your level in the Elite tier, do you still want to be promoted?’ A text box appears with a yes or no…

Good idea, although might need to point out that they are also risk of being lapped.

From my personal experience recently and my frustration I would highly recommend some kind of rework.

For new(er) managers joining the game you'll enjoy rookie. The playfield is somewhat leveled. Then you promote to pro tier and get slaughtered at lower levels. You'll have to develop so much of your facility that will take months to complete.

When you're finally able to compete in Pro tier of (semi) active leagues and get exited for the Elite tier you'll face the worst reality check so far. There's absolutely nothing you can do. No matter what you do or try you'll be no where near any points. Managers playing for longer and that have maxed facilities will build the gap to your performance faster than Ferrari got caught with their Engine.

Maybe cap promotions to Elite at lvl 16...

No, thanks.
My ONLY fun in the current version of the game is trying to race big level 20 managers with the lowest level teams possible (11-12-13-14-15). Obviously in Elite, so I would hate a cap level for promotions.

Another improvement would to make Beginner leagues and Rookie tiers 1 car only.  Makes it easier for new managers to learn the game without the additional requirements of two cars, also saves them parts, engines and tokens while learning how to manage these resources.

Would require a coding change so that hosts could still set 2 car for Pro and Elite if required.
