It’s also wrong to believe that becoming level 20 will make a difference. It won’t as 80% of this game is about what you do away from the track and sadly 80% of the player base don’t understand this.

Levels matter. If a level 18 wins against a level 20 then level 20 player did many mistakes.

Of course levels matter, and why shouldn't they. But so does understanding the game, I've seen many lower levels beat level 20s.

People who have reached level 20 or even level 30 in the future have also gone through all the other levels, so why should they suddenly be penalised when they have gone through exactly the same. You can't expect a new driver to get into a race car and automatically be competitive and win.
If players are racing just to win all the time then they are in for a shock. There are many managers at level 20 that never win but will keep playing because they enjoy it, those are the players the game needs, ones that will continue racing win or lose.
If Lower levels are losing interest because they're not winning, they need to wake up, even at level 20 they could still lose. Too many of these lower level teams are in leagues full of bots or inactive players, they win race after race in rookie, then in pro using completely wrong strategies etc. Suddenly in elite they are against real competition and come no where, they're still using the wrong strategies from before because they haven't learnt anything along the way.
Elite should be seen as a classroom where lower levels race and learn from the higher levels. When I first entered elite I joined 10k rep league to learn from them, I knew I'd never win but it helped me in the long run.
You can't have 30 different tiers so all racing are the same level, you can't have lower levels being as fast as higher levels. So the only way is to play and level up until you finally reach the end goal.

Sure, but remember that the first players of this game didn't experience all of this because they were playing against players having the same level.

Do you understand that this game has been going for over 10 years?  Most of the managers who were here at the very start are long gone.  Not all obviously, but to say that none of the level 20’s around today didn’t go through the same grind as you is simply not true.

The thing is, largely due to the HQ differences becoming larger between new Elites and veterans, the time it will take for a newer player to become competitive will be extended even further following the new update. It’s fine that new Elites are uncompetitive for some time when joining Elite, but after the update I fear it may be too long of a time period. The first 3-4 seasons for new players are normally uncompetitive, as they often breeze through Rookie and Pro before being unable to compete for points in larger leagues in Elite. This essentially means that the first month or two playing the game, your either demolishing the competition or getting demolished - Both of which usually being unentertaining. This (in theory) would get worse with a higher level cap, as veterans in elite will have even more of an unsurmountable gap in Technology compared to newer Elites.

I'm gonna throw my two cents.

As you can see I'm lvl 16 with this account. And it's a solid and active league. I've retired car one race and completely missed one because I didn't have time to set the car. So I feel I would have 15ish more points. I have two podium finishes this season.

This game is really complex and lvls are just a small part of it. Yes, you feel difference in lvls (especially in DRS, gaining less DP is not a big issue because you can use low lvl team advantage in research and build your car properly) but it's not a big part of the game. And yes, you probably won't win championships with lvl 15-16. But you can always be competitive once you reach lvl 15-16.

Yes, it's a grind. But we all went trough it.

Good luck!

If you read wht Jose and Jack have said about the new levels you will see that what you are saying is not true.

Bringing in 10 extra levels is about the only thing the developers can do I'm afraid. A lot of leagues are drying out when it comes to rookies. I think the game has had its best days. So, the only thing they could do was to bring an extra challenge for the elite teams, they're "the usual crowd" and they'll -most likely- keep on playing. It's a way to keep the game alive according to me. It's all about the existing players now, rather than to try to bring in new players in rookie. But I agree with what someone said earlier on: this is going to scare or discourage potential new players...

I think they should just do away with the levels TBH.
