Override software rendering list in Chrome & layers.acceleration.force in firefox are the only one I know would use up more system power

It's either that or spend money on a new up to date system. I think i will stick to my overheating old system

nah, this is not working at all. i need a better video adapter but, still don't know why it's using that much CPU and RAM here when beta was running smooth in the last days.

Suggestion: I'd like more options to turn off. i don't need telemetry or some graphics details at the moment, i don't know. i need response when i click something. I'm talking about 1lap lag when i write a message in the chat or when i change push level. it's too much.
At this moment, i'd prefer the data viewer without 2d to manage my teams.

What window size are you using? I remember before you where on something like 125%
You can now keep 100% and in the options tab in the viewer make everything bigger or smaller

I used to be able to run 2D view in IE and Firefox so can someone please explain why Java was such an issue? (Just winding you up Jack LOL)

Very funny Kevin. Seriously though, at the moment, I'm thinking Java wasn't all that bad o.O

We're launching a new viewer update tomorrow which will include a quality settings option. We hope this will improve the situation for low-end machines. It has been in development since the first issues were reported.

Of course, we can't make any guarantees that it will solve all the problems, as some seem unrelated to resources, and more to do with quirks in certain graphics cards or browsers. We have some other things we can try like a desktop version of the viewer which can run without the limitations of the browser and WebGL.

Re-engineering the game as we have gives us a lot more flexibility. Before, with Java, our options were very limited.

What about the actual app that is coming out, will it be in google-play to add to chromes app list?
It's a mobile app surly it doesn't require a web browser with webgl to play it in your phone or tablet!

When the app comes out, it will be a native application in the Google Play and iOS App Store. It will not use WebGL at all, it will run on the devices hardware directly and make full use of it. It should run well on most phones and tablets. The old demo ran well on my Samsung S3.

The possibility is there then for people using old computers and virtual machines to run the game with the app directly in chrome instead of using the website. I'm still thinking of work a rounds for people with connection issues that might not have a Tablet or Phone.

Wait, you mean I may have a incentive to dust off my ChromeBook?

That's what i'm thinking ChromeBook has no graphics but it might can run the app, if Chrome have it in the games list.

This is my work PC .. a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz with 1GB Ram .. running with Win XP.

I've tried setting the flags/config as advised on both Chrome and Firefox but still not able to load Race Viewer due to the WebGL.

Do you think the reason is because it's an old PC?

Thanks

@Roderick - my old PC with XP and 1GB wouldnt load it up and my work laptop (Win 10 with 2GB) wouldnt load it either (no matter what i closed etc.). My Work PC (Win 10 with 4GB) loads it fine.

I would think you have little chance with that PC of it opening.

I'd say that's probably not enough RAM.

We do have the possibility of releasing a desktop viewer, but with such a small team I'm concerned that it could throw up bugs of its own and become a serious distraction from developing the game. We really need to see if there's enough demand for it, or cases like this.

I guess the tablet/phone version will probably make the need for desktop viewer redundant as pretty much everyone likely to play this game has a smart phone of some sort.
