Why dont just do it like with the drivers. They have their own special ability naturally and the higher Level they have the rarer it gets?

I just thought of an improvement for the Design TD skill.

Rather than giving 1-2-3 flat out Design Points to a single attribute and that's it, what about spicing things up a little? My suggestion:

- Common: +10% to an attribute of your choice for 1 GP, per season.

- Common: +10% to an attribute of your choice for 3 GPs, per season.

- Common: +10%  to an attribute of your choice for 5 GPs, per season.

First I thought of using flat points (+10) but then I thought it was pointless since every manager would use the boost during the first 1-5 GPs where 10 extra points have the most impact since the chassis is still in early development.

I think this would add certain level of strategy and planning, will you use it early since you have one stat very developed and you can gain +8p for acceleration (80 base)? Or would you wait for the end of the season to get nearly +18-20p? Will you avoid using them on rival drivers favorite circuits? Or will you go all out and use it to battle that star rival driver on their preferred track?

I would definitely save up 200 tokens for this. But for 3 DP, no.

You can stack TD, so with 5 Legendary TD you would have 25 GP per season with a 10% bonus. It’s worse than the current system imo.

I understood it as, you can have 5 TDs hired at the same time, but only one on the main spot. Therefore only the ability of the TD appearing on the team formation is applied. You can rotate the rest depending on the circuit or what you want.

This is how I understood it. I have opened a question on another thread addressing this.

It would make no sense to stack TDs to be honest, what do you do with 5 fueling ability TDs? It only makes sense with the design points one.

Edit: looks like you are right. Oh well, then the most appealing one is to stack 5 TDs with the 3 design points each to get 15 extra points. Assuming you have 1000 tokens haha.

To be honest I liked my interpretation more ;) but it is what it is, thanks for the clarification

While having 5 fuelling would be pointless it does mean you can gain the benefits of one fuelling, one telemetry, one race engineer.

For having multiples of the same kind design looks best but it does also mean you can have all the other enhancements if you so desire.

I see it now, I have edited my previous reply, I liked my non stacking interpretation more. Oh well.

They should just remove the fuelling ability of TDs & keep it back at 0.00 (2 decimals) even then 100 tokens is a lot especially considering max you can earn in a season is 66 tokens.

Or you can always spend real money on tokens...

Not sure if this update was, besides giving us more depth and new content, supposed to stimulate token purchases, but it feels too expensive for what we get in return.

Devs could add a third daily gift behind an ad. Nothing crazy, but hey, that would be thousands of ads seen daily! Or some kind of permanent membership that allows you to skip all ads and simply get the reward. Like... 10-20€ and you get ad-free instant rewards for life. These are just some ideas, prices are just an example.

Sir
for refueling leagues well you have to double check now.
but wtf im in a NO refuel league, im completely screwed now with the 0 decimals

for tonights 25 lap race it tells me "3L" in practice, since it can be anything between 2,5 and 3,5 ill end up with 62,5 - 87-5 liters (its a 50% race)

I think it says 3.0, which means it can vary from 2.95 to 3.04

indeed you are right, for the next race it has a decimal number. it would be less irritating if it would have been 3.0 not 3 though

I was expecting the pts on the Design skill on the DT to be all round free Design points to be used to wherever we wanted, but I see now it's max 3 points on 1 attribute, and that's it

same to me, i was happy hey new things! but than i saw ok you had tpo spend 100 TK for what?
not good....
update istn that for me

The whole TD special abilities is just another attempt to make Managers spend tokens ?. It just means the gap between the top and casual managers will get bigger.  It’s no surprise so many are leaving the game.

I think, that, this time, even the top managers may baulk at the price of these traits.  I mean, you would need to spend about £20 to get a maxxed out trait, if you do not have enough tokens.  That over 4 TD's is £80, MINIMUM!!!

Okay... I'll post another reply so "Big Brother" can remove it because he doesn't like it...

It's all about the money, not about the gameplay here. So sad, the end of iGp is close, so close...

I highly doubt this is about money, if it was, they would have sold the game to a bigger company, or created pay to win abilities, race boosters and whatever gatcha/loot boxes strategy works best.

But they haven't ( and if they ever do, then that might be the end of the game as we know it).

We are just giving our impressions and feedback, I actually I am giving my 2 cents on what would make me spend tokens and maybe real money in those abilities, without making them pay to win.

Tbh, I don't believe a word about Jack being able to sell the game to "a bigger company". Who would buy it? Keep the numbers of players that left this platform in mind. They'll probably try to squeeze as much as possible money out of it in the next couple of years and let it fade out quietly after that. Just my idea... About the pay to win: look af most leagues: if you don't have legendary stats for your drivers (here are the tokens), build your own engines (tokens again)... you're nowhere. With the latest TD update it's exactly the same. A shame, but it is what it is.

I am personally very frustrated with the new TD skills update. anything other than fueling is basically pointless bc the fueling is so important. Especially in a no-refueling league.

removing how much info we get from fueling by default was REALLY bad decision IMO for a few reasons;

  1. fuel values are lower, so removing decimal precisions takes away a high percent of precision as compared to tires having no decimals. for example, 0.5 is 25% of 2 (a typical fuel usage rate), but 0.5 is only ~8% of 6 (a typical tire wear rate). that's a massive difference.

  2. tires are changed frequently and can be adjusted mid-stint if needed. fueling cannot be adjusted in no-refueling leagues at all. this means that any mistake will ruin your entire race, as opposed to being able to make adjustments to fix one little issue.

  3. Anytime you originally give players data and then take it away is bad; especially now that it's been put behind a paywall. you're making us pay (if you don't have tokens stockpiles to high heaven) to have something we used to have for free, an extremely frustrating experience for the users.

In effect, this was an overall bad update. the fueling needs to be moved back to a default behavior (or, at the very least, give 1 decimal point precision free) and i think it will be fine. literally just do that and the day is saved. maybe rework it so that the skill gives more tire wear info instead. I think that would be a monumental improvement.

i've seen some talking that maybe my experience here isn't perfect. i've only had one race sine the update and it was giving my fuel usage as 2 in practice. it's possible that the fuel is already 1 decimal point precision be default, but if this is the case then you need to be using 2.0 not 2. 2 could be anywhere from 1.5 to 2.49, 2.0 is much more precise and communicates as much to the user.

Right now you should take 5pcs TDs, and buy them a legendary in big4.
This will give a boost in tempo of about 0.075sec. A permanent advantage - so u win Q, and with a higher place in the quals and a higher tempo, you can save KERS. Almost p2w already.
Fuel is bullshit - spreadsheets will solve the problem, without buying TDs

What is "BIG4"? Do you mean: ACCEL, BRAKING, AERO, HANDLING?

aero is not a stat, the big 4 are accel, braking, handling, downforce

Sorry, aerodynamics <=> Downforce. Apparently they translate non-literal despite meaning exactly the same (ish). All clear now.

I assume he's coming to a conclussion that each extra point in the main 4 attributes contribute to a 0,005 because he said 5 TD with skill in those in legendary (3 pts per TD, so... 3 x 5 = 15 x 0,005 = 0,075.

That would be the only mathematical explanation to his reasoning.

A different story is what those points actually contribute to.

First,... If the attribute upgraded is more or less relevant to a circuit.

Second: It's not the same to add +15 points early season than doing so when you have almost everything maxed our. And also to factor the First principle.

Then it's the relevancy depending on your rivals' development, and last buy not least it's if you nailed a setup for a race or didn't.

So no, 0,075 it's only in his mind. Those points might be as much as 0,2 secs early season or 0,001 late season. As it happens with engine points aswell.

These would help, but sometimes information is more important, so I don't know about his recommendation. 15 fixed points vs. getting the information skills.

Your choice.
