APP: Can't enter race? Solution

If you have any issues loading the race, please refer to my original post at the start of this thread.

The 7pm races are starting now, 15-20 minutes late. In our efforts to fix the race viewer issues for peak time we hurriedly put some code up, intended to let people access the viewer whether their app had old code or not (see the original post for what I mean by that). This turned out to be a costly mistake. It caused the whole service to get overloaded momentarily. This is why the site was slow to load. It was not a reflection on the new servers, it was just a poorly timed effort to make things better for everyone that ended up making it worse. Again, our apologies for that.

Things should go back to normal now, and if your race has not started yet it will do so in the next 2-3 minutes. You may need to restart the app to get it to show the "go to race" buttons.

Anyone who is unhappy with the result of their race or who wasn't able to connect, if you would like your race re-run please post a request in the race re-run thread. We can completely reset it and it will run anew in the next calendar slot. You don't have to live with the consequences of whatever happened to your race tonight if you don't want to.

Those hit hardest by it will be us in the form of lost users and time providing support. We understand we have to do better than this, but also bear in mind the issues in the last 24 hours are a result of a major effort to put lag and related issues behind us for good.

We're confident that the issues in the last two nights were largely related to configuration and initial setup of a new service - not a fatal flaw. We've seen that when things are running well, they're running very well. We're on track to a better future for iGP and the community and will soon refocus on releasing a string of important gameplay and content updates.

These issues should be fixed now. I'm going through and tidying up everything that had issues tonight, as well as fixing the remaining bugs like notifications not showing etc.
