if u can spectate for free, then u can cheat, u dont need a 2d account anywhere, u open one 2d window of ur race in spectate mode (2nd account) to see tyre temps and then u open another window with main account onto live timing for push control, the only thing u wouldnt have control of is kers, or see fuel numbers etc.
In fact u wouldnt need a 2nd account, u can just use one account, spectate in 1 window and live timing in other etc.

The implication (I gather any way) was that you can't watch your own race as a free user, but you can spectate other races. Thus, make a second account, and spectate your first accounts race.

Too many flaws in the system for it to work.

yeah - all good points.

And anyway you can just watch races ATM on the spectate page  - I forgot about that!

Ok, perhaps I didn't make it clear in my post. What I'm referring to is not the same 2D you have as a paid service but a limited version. Allow me to see the overhead race so I can see the cars racing around and passing/bunching up. Don't show fuel levels, tire temps, or other major race changing data since you are a spectator it shouldn't matter to you. The only things it's really going to give you an advantage on over seeing your own data driven live controls is a visual represenation of the numbers you can see. I would gain minimal knowledge that I don't get by looking at the numbers alone, such as seeing where the pit lane is in relation to when I choose to pit. I should already be able to tell from the numbers if I'm about to pass or be passed but I would be able to watch it live instead of waiting for the next split time to know the result.

To make a point, or perhaps have an answer provided to me when I am currently racing I have no control over the KERS without having a 2D subscription. Just like buying the motorhome, it was a waste of my in game money to purchase. I wasn't aware of this when I purchased it and it's one of the things that annoys me about the game. I still wouldn't get any advantage on this front in the free spectate mode of the 2D viewer as I have no control unless I've picked up a subscription anyway.

And for the comments about the second accounts and cheaters...well it's clear that mamy people have this happening already (just seeing the posters). Not sure how many are willing to admit that but I've seen and I'd say it should be part of a discussion in the suggestions forum to clear up WHY you need a second account. There should be no reason not to extend the primary account to give you the features you're gaining by having a second account really. Suddenly the game has artificial user numbers...On Jason's note about spectating your own race and just creating a second account to get around it, I'd suggest (and I'm sure one or two cases will be presented) that only a single login per IP address at the same time will cut down on this issue. Yes there are ways to get around it, yes there are people who can claim legitimate reasons to allow multiple logins per IP. But it's relatively simple coding and makes a cheater have to work that little bit harder. But again, you really wouldn't be gaining much by doing it if it's a limited 2D viewer that isn't showing the additional data/controls.
