2D really does add a whole new dimension to the game and its difficult to not get really hooked and involved.
I hope your race on Sunday is a huge success for you - good luck

Well we just finished our race in Turkey and as my first race in the 2D viewer it was a good one! I had decided to take a bit of a gamble and go for longer stints on hards which also included qualifying on hards. I was counting on a massive and comprehensive update I was bringing to the car for this race to help make up some of the difference of using the hard compound during qualifying but it didn't work out that way. I qualified 21st when I was hoping for somewhere between 10th and 15th in order to make it inside of the top 10 when the checkered flag fell.
When the lights went off and we all took off I was impressed to find that my driver, while apparently not much for a hard tire qualifying was eating up people and by the end of the first stint had pushed his way up to 7th! After the first pit stop I was back to 16th and to be honest I didn't see my chances of getting into the top ten as being overly good. I finished the second stint again in 7th, but as I entered into the third stint I found that my times were dropping and I finally noticed that it was raining. I delayed pitting for wets because I wasn't sure which compound was the one to be on. It looked like inters so I pitted for inters but withing in 4 laps of those I saw I was well off the pace of those who had opted for the full wets so I pitted once more in the hopes of keeping my 13th position with enough fuel to see me last for the end of the race. At this point I was going to have to leave race control to go to the girlfriend's parents for dinner so this last decision was it, the rest was in the hands of the race gods. Well it turned out to be the best decision I made all race because, while watching the timing using my android, I saw my driver carve his way from 13th all the way up to 6th in time for the checkered flag!
It was a great race all told, 21st to 6th is no mean feat if I do say so myself although I don't think it would have been possible without the rain. I'm already chomping at the bit to get to next Sunday where we're going to Britain. I've made a switch in engine suppliers and I'm hoping for another decent upgrade to the car. I'm still a few races away from being able to equip DRS but I think I've shown I can be competitive without it too. Best of luck everyone and I'll see you out on the race track.

Well done Hank and I am glad you enjoyed the whole 2D experience. It really can be quite gripping trying to make the right decisions during the race.
On to a podium finish next Sunday! :)

Seems like well fell off the radar a bit. The racers in the rookie series requested it and we are going to attempt running Thursdays and Sundays, still a 1 car, 75% distance series.
New season will start in less than 7 days and there are plenty of openings. Currently there are just 13 rookies and 9 pro drivers. Come take a look and stay for some competitive racing.
