What I don't understand is why we are talking about a new weather system? Wouldn't it be easier to change the tyre model?

I'm thinking more long term than short term.

If we change the model of it, then it will need to be changed again and again. (At the very least once for summer and once for winter.)

I personally think that a weather system would make it more of a solid base to work with. Tyres and tracks can me made with boundaries where all the compounds work in the variety of temps and conditions for each track.

You could have it where the track drops to about +2 and can be as hot as +25.. but as it stands the tyres have to deal with summer temps of +25 and winter temps of -5.

How can you build tyres / cars / strategies around that?

Don't get me wrong on the fact that I want a solid stucture and each season the track is the same over and over and over.. That is the last thing I want.. I'de love it where 1 season it was +25 and then the season after it was +10 Thunderstorms. As long as the tyres work and you can use more than 1 compound in the dry.

Tonight. It was softs, fully pushing and nothing else.. The hards wouldn't work at all. That to me isn't racing.. Some people seem to think it is though. O_o

So hang on, are you guys saying you did 5 stops on a full distance Monaco race? This is my first visit to Monaco with this game and it's recommending 4 stops

I actually I just reread it and they said 5 stops for a 60 lap race, that's crazy. Running shorter stints in a lighter car makes that big a difference?

It depends how cold it is.

If it's under +10, then more stops works.. The cars are lighter, so they heat up a tiny bit more and that makes a huge difference for some reason. Over 1 second a lap difference with adding an extra stop in..

Crazy, it does seem really odd to be racing at below freezing temps, can't see a real series doing that, at least not f1 type cars

Germany : 9.30pm GMT.

-3 Deg's C Heavy rain and it's nothing but 5/5 pushing for the whole race..

I honestly can't see this being anything but an open and shut case.

With proper temps put in, it should be a game where you can not leave your seat for more than a min as your tyres will overheat or go cold.. I can't see how anybody can argue and say that this kind of racing is better.. I have sat here and not even needed to move a thing.. It's Push fully.. leave the game and wait until the end.

I know exactly fule ammounts and so on before the start of the race.. If the averages was put in to this and it came out with something randon.. Then it could be something like +10 with heavy rain. At least we could make a race out of it and turn up to not just watch the race, but to take part in it as well. but if others think that 5/5 pushing for the full 60 laps is perfectly fine.. then so be it. :(

Don´t forget that not everyone can follow every race live, whats about the guys that won´t be able to take part on more than per example 12, 13 races per season. They were practically chanceless to ever win drivers or team championship. In my case for example i can´t be online fridays to follow races because of business meeting every friday.

Ok, now let´s say i have to switch to an other league, were´s no racing on fridays, but i´m the host of " iGP Super Series ". So i don´t want to change league, unfavorable it is possible that our friday meeting is set to thursday or an other weekday in future. Then i have to switch again and again. We have great fun to challenge against in our league, most of the peoples racing there are long time members, every season there are new chances to switch ranking.

What i wanted to say is, that most of us managers don´t have the possibilty to be logged in to every race of a season. The reason were that i´m losing so much championship points if i mess up every race i did´nt take part of. At the system now i can limit the risk in a race that i can not follow live in the hope to get a few points to see the finishing line at least in the lower pointing ranks.

Finally i think it makes this game varying due the fact that weather changes in cycle of the seasons.

@Rusty Long: Than it is the reason to play here just from march to november as it is in real f1....

Don't know where iGP is drawing its resources, but we have a race in Malaysia in about 2 hours time. It says it rains on iGP. I checked weather.com and weatherbug.com. It's not raining at the moment, according to them.

I don't mean to sound nasty on this one. Is it not your own choice to be in a league that runs every day?

I play a few browser games like Ikariam and Goal United, I also play serveral types of PC Games from rFactor / Race On to others like FIFA13 / GW2 / Minecraft and many many others and not one of them games waits for the player to chose when to play.

You can't go in to an open room in FIFA 13 and tell the game what the weather conditions are or if it's day or night.. The game chooses, it's also the same in Minecraft. We don't tell the game when it rains or not.. The game decides when it wants to rain or even thunder.

What I mean is that it is you who chooses to run 7 days per week. I choose to run 3 days per week as I have other commitments as well. (Also the girlfriend would kill me. lolol) and all 3 of the days. I am logged in and say waiting for the race to start.

I don't choose to sit for 2 hrs to watch dots / cars going round the track and to do nothing because it's 5 out of 5 pushing fully and that is it from start to finish..

I want to sit there and if I have taken my eyes from the game for a couple of laps, my tyres should be either burning up or cooling down.. Same as real F1 or any other series.

We have all heard the teams talking to the drivers and telling them to slow the car down or they are ok to push harder to gain some time.. This is the type of game that we are paying in to, then that is the stuff we should be getting.

Again. I don't mean to sound like a s**t or anything like that, but it's you that chooses to race 7 days per week.. I am just not willing to put any more money in to a game where I don't have input to what my drivers are doing.
