Patch 1.3 Reduce lag & reduce simulator crashes

The web server upgrade is complete, there should be a noticeable performance increase around the websites and more importantly, we hope this will eliminate any remaining issues in the viewer when we hit peak load in a few hours.

I'm watching it right now and seeing no lag.

In your experience is the lag something seen by individuals or everyone at the same time?

Yeah, the "connection problem" issue is typically something system-wide. I'll investigate what happened earlier that may have caused that.

Right now we're more interested in the lag. The fact that it sounds like it's only experienced by some makes sense, and is in line with our understanding of the limitation within the simulator. We have a high priority development in the pipeline to prevent that, but it's a little more complicated and will take time.

It does seem that things have improved a lot generally, but there is more work to be done. We weren't anticipating this as a final solution to all of the issues, but we're getting there. Please keep your feedback coming if you experience anything noteworthy.

There is one last web server upgrade coming in the pipeline, taking the hardware from "comfortable" to "excessive". But for now this should be more than enough power. The next upgrade will take a bit longer as it involves more technical work than the recent upgrades and switching service provider.

In the meantime we will move on to addressing lag in the viewer (the stutters mentioned by Brett above), which we also have a solution for, but it's quite technical and involves a lot of man hours.
