The 200 pt cap still applies.  You can also change your engine attribute from say Acceleration to Handling if you would otherwise exceed the cap

Thnx!

This will help me 😁

When I get time I will update the guide to reflect the new supplier / customer relationship.

But there is one more point that is not clear to me.

When you go to the research screen and can compare your car with the other cars in the competition, your EP will not be included in the visual display.

The green progress bar just stays that way, even if you use the EP.
I tested this by first looking without the EP at the green bar on acc. And then with EP looking at the green bar with acc.

Anyone have any idea how this is possible?

That way you can never make a fair and good comparison with the others, can you?

It won’t, but it is included the first screen which shows your numerical values.  Not sure that fair comes into it as you are building your own engines so it makes sense that less info is available to your competitors.  It’s not hard to compare the two charts and work out where you should put your engine attributes should be for each race (think about it does Mercedes know everything about the Red Bull engine?)

The best way to view this is you are comparing your chassis, and assessing what area you are researching.

You won’t get additional research based on what engine your competitors have fitted. The green bar reflects the best base stat only.

The clue is in the name, it's called the Research screen because it is here that you can determine which attribute(s) to spy on. This is also why your CD strength and weakness are indicated by coloured bars to enable you to calculate precisely which boxes to tick to gain maximum benefit.

Research is calculated on the difference between your base design and the base design of the strongest team in the league. Supplier modifiers (Engines, Fuel, Tyres) have no relevance in research calculations which is why they are not displayed on this tab.

What you are trying to do is compare total design (including suppliers) which is not relevant for research purposes and in any case is not possible because you have no idea which suppliers your competitors are using. it were possible it would remove one of the few tuning tweaks that managers can hide from their competitors and for this reason I don't think being able to make a direct comparison is either necessary or fair.

In this situation, you can't actually assume anything 100%.

For example, you can see from the progress bar that team A is the best developed on acc.. But secretly Team B (own engine manufacturer) has added +24 EP to acc.. As a result, team A is not the most developed team on acc., but Team B.
That makes the game "real" . Just like in reality, you only find out during the race when Team B suddenly puts you 3 laps behind.

Okay clear.
I thought maybe this was still part of the development of the game and that it would be included in the updates.
But this way is of course much better to keep the game very exciting

I'm not making any assumptions. I'm saying the page is only there to work out where best to research. For this reason supplier modifiers are not relevant, no assumptions to make.

I have 2 questions.
1. If I have 200 on acceleration on a track and add 20 to the engine, do I have 220 or still 200?
2. Can I stop manufacturing engines if I want to?

1. In the Elite tier the 200 design cap cannot be exceeded. Any supplier bonus that takes your total above 200 is wasted. So the answer to your question is... 200.

2. No

It’s a star for ‘active’ if you’re no manufacturer, there’s no star. At least I think that’s what it means

So it’s either 1 star or no star

I’m a manufacturer as well and have no idea what you are going on about.  Only difference I see see on your account to other engines manufacturers is that your stats are locked and can’t be viewed whereas everyone else’s can be seen?

I believe on cars page, he means the manufacture tab: engine manufacturer => 1 yellow star.

It’s one star as in ‘active’, not “your engine is bad (1/5 stars)”.  It’s either a star if you manufacture your engine or none at all if you use another engine
