FYI - I've just applied a patch to always force neutral push levels on practice laps, as is described in the tooltips, the predictions are intended to be for neutral push levels. It was always an unintended behaviour that strategy push level was applied to practice laps.

Was there a good reason for this fix?

Under the old system life was simple, a particular engine/fuel combination had a km/l which was the same for every track at a certain push level. You could also look at previous season's figures to fine tune the fuel needed.

With the current system, we can develop fuel economy so km/l will vary from season to season for the same track, it's no longer possible to rely on figures from a previous season

It may not have been working as intended but being able to see what difference a change in push level made to the fuel per lap was useful.

Is there a chance of this fix being rolled back?

As it is, it's the same as changing engine every season in the old version. You had the old engines data as a reference to give you an idea of what you need per lap, some tracks where higher, some tracks where lower.

Does it really need changing?? You start each season with the same design level you add the same amount of points each race your old seasons data is spot on

The change made it more challenging but It didn't make estimated laps any different, it's still 1 lap short each stint. Need to copy and paste the figures from the race viewer fuel usage into the strategy page to make estimated laps work right.

James, have you ever refreshed page and then choose how many stints do you need after a practice lap?

Sorry if it's not what you had meant with the posts.

yes but it still doesn't add up right, Granted 22.5 or 22.8 means you are doing 23 laps but is writes in as 22 not 23 in estimated laps where as the race viewer has it spot on.

22.5 = 23.1 in race
22.8 = 23.4 in race

Jack has seen it himself with his 25 litres = 10.3 He needed 24 but estimated laps said 24 was 9.8 instead of 10.3

Got it.
I thought that was supposed to be something as a safe margin.

Nothing in the rules YET about needing to hand back 1 litre of fuel at the end of the race for testing

And in saying that it's something I will have to test out, can you change suppliers while the race is running lol
