it's easy to say Mercedes has not the powerfull package it had. After this race, i'm pretty sure Vettel will win the championship with the help of red bull.
this gap Hamilton has now, will be nothing after 2 races if ferrari hasnt got the bad luck of the last two.

Questionable call by Ferrari to change Vettels tires so early. Probably should have gotten another 5 laps out of the softs.
Gap to the leader.
The magic number for Hamilton to win the Championship is 91 points at the moment. That is if Vettel wins all the remaining races and if Vettel wins out he will win by a single point. A lot to play for still in this Championship and Yes Ferrari looks very good if they can get their act together.
Ferrari underfueled Vettel as well. They decided to change tires early to undercut the Wall of Bottas. So I think even if Vettel wanted passed Ricciardo, he would have had to do it much earlier since Vettel would have to slow down considerably at the end, managing fuel & fried tires.
Dunno about who will have the better car in the next 5 races. Merc were outright fastest in Italy just before these 2 races, so we can't tell until the race now it seems. Red Bull once again show they are better as the season goes on as they are one of the best in developing the car over the season, so if they get it right again they can steal some wins.
Don't underestimate HAM though. Qualy master, + even though Silver Arrows had slower race pace in Malaysia compared to Bulls and Fancy Horse, he finished ahead of the Honey Badger and completely demolished Bottas. Was the same in Singapore; outpaced Ric there too. Max seems faster than Ric in pace lately, qualifying record is 11-4 too, but it's so close between those two Bulls.
Vettel's 3 best tracks are Sing, Mas, and Japan. Well... dunno how he feels rn having such difficulty in his best tracks. Ferrari will try to fix the gear box to prevent the penalty, but in the event they're not able to, I don't think the FIA is lenient at giving penalties for gearbox changes...
oh yes, we will miss sepang lol, incredible races we had there. damn.
if i have to say today, definetly i would say vettel but, i agree with you, Ham has been showing he is better than vettel.
but ferrari has a better car today.
also in Hams favour, ferrari is not showing any cool mind. i mean, they look like crazy italians managing :P and merc is 100% cool minded germans.
but the most important changes from last races are:
- ferrari is proving to have the best car
- merc cant keep up with red bull.
if you think about the gap, is nothing if vettel finishes with cars between them.
