In some other forum where that light was mentioned someone replied with "According to Sky this is a ground speed sensor".

With all those cameras and additional sensors already present I wonder when a team tries to secretly gain some advantage by running the car autonomous parts of the race/lap. :D

i love how teams are researching and even inventing things. that's pure F1.
drivers are still fighting the cars and learning how to get the max from tyres. strategies have changed a lot too.

can red bull close the gap? would be nice to have a 3 teams battle long time no see.
i'm enjoying this season.

Sounds like it's the same principle as an optical mouse.

By a strange coincidence, the Italian for red mouse is Topo Rosso

lol @Topo Rosso hahahahaha, told you it was a track scanner. the thing is, what benefits will they get from it.
where can they apply that info??

I'm sure the data what movement the car is doing at the area of the front suspension has some use and there might be (at least) another one at the rear. What I'm wondering is if this really gives that much more accurate data than gyrosensors, but perhaps it actually does scan the tarmac structure as well.

New Chassis for Red Bull :)
http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/formula1/major-chassis-update-for-red-bull-in-spain/ar-BBA4sWj?li=AA572I&ocid=spartandhp

Jack any chance we could redesign the cars ?
for so many tokens & only once in a season, reposition cars current points, but CD's strength and weakness is locked and cant be changed only other parts of the car can be edited.

I see a way to get closer to the cars ahead:

Take all points off Reliability, Cooling & TE and put them on the other areas lol

Brake Suppliers Brembo, Hitco, Carbon Industries, AP Racing and Alcon are pulling their hair out and going bankrupt because we are making our own brakes

Guess the Fuel Suppliers are not to happy with us either since we keep changing the fuel mixture to get better economy

Tyre & Engine Companies too, at this rate we be running out of things to spend design points on if suppliers give set ratings

Is it my fault that the brake suppliers refuse to accept that dwarf bread makes the best brake pads? Nice control, brake power and lasts forever. I just wish I could say that about those poor brake discs now, though.

OK back on topic

Brakes, Brakes, Brakes is what they mostly talk about in F1 https://www.formula1.com/en/latest.html?date=2017-4&type=Technical
And after a brake failure in the last race it will be back in the news again!

We just seen the importance of Cooling & Reliability at work and yet again more Brake issues.

Imagine waiting 14 days to get to the race and then not even starting it!

I have a question
1:Does Palmer deserve a chance to race in a F1 car after Russian GP?
2:Should I have another meme about Palmer being the new Maldonado?
And 3: Should I have the new lyric of Grosean being turned into by Palmer?
You should easily answer those questions if you have watched the Russian GP.
Finally,Prepare for another meme of Vettel raging about backmarkers after being prevented winning the race by Massa at sector 2 of the last lap of the Russian GP.

R.I.P. Senna and Ratzenberger.

The death of Senna is one of the strangest in the history of the F1 that never was clarified.
I always think he was forced to overcome the safety limits of the car to fight against that Benneton car with its illegal traction control.
