New programmer at iGP

I've just spent a few days up in Edinburgh, Scotland, conducting interviews with programmers for a position at iGP Games. It was a new experience to be sat on the other side of the table during an interview, as the interviewer rather than the interviewee, but a valuable one. I know many of you like to know what we're doing behind the scenes, and this is what we've been up to this week.
I am pleased to announce that we have found someone suitable for the position, and whilst in a larger company the hiring of a single programmer would not be news, for us it is. As a small studio each new person makes a noticeable difference.
I can't give specific details at this time, but they will be of assistance with the development of the 2D viewer and race simulation. This is an area which historically has been an achillies heal for producing developments in a timely manner. It's the most complex part of our development process and has had just one person (Andrew) working part-time on it. With this hiring we hope an extra set of hands will bring the rate of simulator and viewer improvements up a notch.
The new programmer won't be starting just yet, and there will be a learning curve initially to get them fully integrated. Being realistic, we might not see the full effect of this change for another 2-3 months. But it will undoubtedly make a difference in the long-term.
This is good news
Great Stuff..
