Priority should go to making the game more realistic in the level of challenges faced by a team boss. More inrace decisions to be made, reacting to changing track conditions, safety cars, race incidents, the stuff that makes it not just an intellectual exercise, but the real life vagaries of sport.
Yawn... Yes we've heard this exact opinion from you on this thread twice and on other threads many times but I'm not sure the developers have the same vision as you. At the end of the day it's also a commercial venture so providing the majority of players enjoy the game and are contributing by purchasing tokens I don't imagine there's a driver to re-code the entire race sim to suit you.
IIRC Jack has already hinted at Safety Cars which would be a welcome feature but at the end of the day if you find the game too predictable and don't like that predictability just find another game that you do like and play that instead.

Even with cutting the DP in half the simulator would need to be re-coded. Because the effect of each DP has to be doubled in order to achieve the effect of being able to create a broader car deveolpment spectrum. Otherwise DPs just become less important if the effect of each DP stays the same.
I probably didn't make myself clear. I was suggesting halving the dp available from HQ and Research as an alternative to doubling the ceiling. So the effect of dp in the race sim would remain exactly the same but each manager would have less to allocate so we wouldn't end up with all cars at 100 in the big 4 half way through the season.
Self Help. Driver coaches is an interesting concept but not being a coder I don't know how difficult it would be to implement.
Boring....
Whenever ANYONE (not just me), suggests making the game more challenging, on you troll, pouring cold water on any improvements and stating baldly that your view is not just exactly what the developers think, but what is best for the vast majority of players. It is very predictable. It's strange, most of the players who I speak to in Preston Racing, are in favour of more realistic and challenging gaming, and it is a vibrant and competitive league with an almost full roster of players. Maybe it isn't representative of most leagues, or maybe you are not voicing any opinions but your own.
I am saddened that you see fit to oppose any changes that would make the game more of a reflection of sports and less of a clean and pure thought experiment. But I hope you are in the minority, it would be a shame if innate caution and narrow self interest killed a sports management sim by allowing it to stagnate, or worse, dumb down.
