I think it would be good to allow the host the possibility to change the points system (potentially giving them a handful of options including the current F1 system, the current MotoGP system and the 2002-2009 F1 system).
This would allow hosts to accommodate the needs of the members of their leagues and potentially lead to people taking more interest in the game were points to be awarded down to P15 for example.
This would make fantastic sense, especially in leagues where there are a very high or low volume of cars - for example a full grid of 32, or a new league with only 5 or 6 teams.
It has my full support and I imagine it would not be the most difficult thing to impliment.
I agree with these sentiments too, it might show that the grid is more competitive than it appears to be, and even the backmarkers wouldn't be racing for nothing.
As a guy in Gene's league, this would be good for me because I'm always at the back because it would make the midfield and lower-midfield battles more interesting. It might even bring them together!
as someone who hasn't ever been a big fan of the fact someone can do a whole race and get the same amount of points of someone who sat in the corner and cried for an hour, i would love to see this (despite the fact i honestly don't see this thread changing when/if this is put into igp)
That is, you offer three principles for scoring points - modern F1, Indycar and classic F1.
F1 - ten teams, ten finishers receive points. Indycar - 15 or 16 teams - points are given to the 15 or 16 drivers. And hardcore F1 classics - points only from first to sixth places, apparently regardless of the number of participants. I support.
This would actually be really helpful for league's that want to have different kind of format. It also gives variety of options to change up something every season. This needs to be introduced.
As another guy in Gene's league, yes. So much goes on between me vs Bugatti vs Ferrari vs Mercedes, but the game only cares if one of us cracks P10. It's rather annoying really.
I stand with my friends here. Fighting with Jenson and Jafari is great, but I think having a top 50% points system as Gene said would give us a bit more to play for.
