this game is not equally leveled among all players. its like rest of the free games where you get a huge advantage if you pay...and this is one of them.. i play gpro and love it because of the fact that all players supporters or no supporters re considered equal. i am full supporter there since i started.
here there is a lot of difference. the live timing doesn't display fuel and tyre wear. thats a big shame.

iGP just updated the game via a Q1 Patch, where such free users had more resources available to them to keep more competitive within their races, such as changing pace amongst others live orders.

I suppose this still isn't fair, and you expect to have everything at your disposal as a free player, meaning there would be point to the terribly miniscule £5 a month subscription I and many others enjoy to contribute.

I don't pay to get advantages, I pay to support the developers who work shitloads for not much cash. The difference in pace because you can't see your fuel & tyre wear is tiny, so stop crying about it.

i didnot say i don't want to support. have you heard of gpro game? well i am supporter there and i pay 10$ for every season. but the point i am trying to mke here is that with paying we get advantage here. but there is no such advantage in races. money should only be used to access previous data not giving some benefits during races. that is the reason most of the gproers have left this game.
make a leveled field( i appreciate what the developers did in q1 patch). add fuel and tyre consumption in live timing. without that making strategies is not big fun and logically speaking its just guessing.
i love to pay only for those games which have equal advantage over non payers. not like some galaxy game where you get lasers and rocket launchers if you pay for that and the others who just fire simple rockets.lol...
and yeah  £5  a month is nothing.

I'm interested Tajinder, you've participated in just two races in iGP.

How have you come to the conclusion that paying gives you SO MUCH of an advantage against non paying people?

In all honesty, to get the best advantage, you need to rank up as quickly as possible, so a daily race league will help this and especially those who started playing from Day 1, will have the best level and have access to the best technology / facilities & drivers.

I have heard of GPRO, but not played it.

well i have read a number of posts where managers have addressed that they won because of the 2d advantage over others.

Was that post-patch or pre-patch?

I suppose it is very easy for someone who doesn't win to blame a certain element of the game as to why they didn't win, but there are far more factors to consider than racing in 1D or 2D.

I race 2D, yet out of 80 races I only have won 6. I play with 2D & 1D members and we are all different levels, slightly.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Yes, 2D gives the option of viewing the track, tyres and fuel, but that's not such a big advantage that it would be the difference between winning and losing. It comes down to common sense as well.

All you need to know is how much fuel you burn off each lap, which can take 1 season to acquire, and then remember that tyres will heat up more with more push. Once you've figured this out (especially after seeing how each push effects the tyres in the 3 free trials for 2D) then the 'big advantage' is seriously cut down.

I'm sure a lot of people pay the £5 to help the developers because they have created a game which is great, and has a lot of potential. I've played GPRO, and although it's good, I actually prefer this, and have been contributing here because I believe that this game will be fantastic. I've never subscribed to any game before this, and it's by no means just for this 'advantage'.

There are so many factors that influence how competitive you are, that it's ridiculous to propose that 2D players have an advantage over those who don't subscribe.

you have only just join this game. have u used your 2d trial. the only advantage us "Paying" Members  have is the 2d and that only really allows us to stop our tyre from over heating so tell me is that a great advantage??? i think not. i have race with many and no paying member and some of them are really good.

the reason you might be struggling is because you dont have kers or drs which you will get as you play the game.

Compliant about an advantage are coming form members who have been playing the game alot longer than yourself

pre patch they did but  not so much now you have alot more control now than b4. the only thing you cant see is how hot your tyres are and when to use kers and how much you have left

2D is indeed a very big advantage! I have lots of more fun. Its thrilling to watch. Thats it!

Of course you do have an advantage in laptimes a little bit. But since the update it's really only a little bit to experienced managers.
But unexperienced managers won't have a big advantage out of 2D as well, except for learning faster.

To me there is only one reason to have 2D: FUN!

Hi Tajinder
I think you may have gotten a distorted view of the game by reading the forum posts previous to the Q1 patch.   A lot of what is said in these posts is unfortunately not very accurate.  I get from what you are saying that you are quite keen on this game and will hopefully stay with it long enough to discover how good it really is.  Like most things in life once you have played for a while it becomes quite addictive and you will discover the answers to your questions just by playing the game.
Believe me the 'Paying'  players do not have a huge advantage (if any at all!) except in seeing the race live and helping finance a ground-breaking new development in AI gaming.

+1 there is little if any advantage apart from the visual aspect since the Q1 patch, thought it would have appeased a lot of people

Come on guys. We don't have to lie. Of course there is an advantage.
But its not an advantage of five positions or something like that.
In some races you might be able to make a difference. In some you don't.

But all this blabla about "Its not about winning, but I want to have the same" is nonsense to me. There is a difference, but that's not the reason you buy 2D.
There are two reasons to buy 2D.

1. You must win and use everything whats there. I'd call that overambitious, but life is colourful. So go for it.
2. Fun! As this is a game, fun is quiet an argument. ;-)

But of course there is an advantage and if it's only to be able to react to circumstances and changes a LOT better. I can think of a lot of situations I use 2D to my advantage, but still its the fun, that counts to me.

Of course: Good drivers in good cars being better than the rest of the field, will make it without 2D now more or less as easy as with 2D.
If you don't know what you do, nothing will save your little race-ass anyway....

I pay for this game because I like it and I want the devs to continue their work.
Now for HUGE ADVANTAGES over free users... yeah it was true before Q1 update.
One of the reasons why I left the league I started in was because there were only two subscribers in it and I found it boring to be able to finish the race a lap or two ahead of half of the people there.
Now after Q1 I would say it's pretty close to even.

This is a joke none the less. Subscribers pay up - They should get something extra as far as I'm concerned. That's the reason I paid for the game.

What incentive would there be for any user to pay for this game, if they had no advantage by doing so? I think you're missing the point completely.

@Jason

Well, many games do it without an advantage - as a paying subscriber from day 1, I actually support this view. I'd like to see free players have access to race data (but not 2d view obviously) so they can race properly. Other games provide incentive by providing you with statistics and features to enhance strategy, but not give a clear advantage. Soccer game xperteleven for instance, provides people with the ability to customise their jersey, view rivals tactics on the match screen (players otherwise needs have to go through 2-4 screens to find the data) and view statistics about other teams in their league (wins, losses, richest, etc). iGP could do something similar - an expanded strategy screen where you can see what strategy the previous race winner had, the most common strategy to win the race. A statistics page with league stats - wins/losses/avg position/richest/graphs of finishing positions/etc. The livery editor is a good idea.

The mobile version of the app could also come at a cost providing some extra revenue, and in app subscriptions for 2d access from the mobile would also increase subscriptions - I'd pay right now to have the app on my iphone with 2d view. I still beleive this should've been done before the livery editor in order to expand the player base and build the game before worrying about cosmetic touches.

A lot of these ideas could be used to provide incentive for people to pay for the game while still providing an even playing field for players who don't play. As a admin of a league, I find a number of players are leaving due to the 2d advantage - both 2d and free players. 2d players get bored with racing only half the field and free players get sick of being at a disadvantage. Although this is only in my league - I'm willing to bet that it's representitive of the game itself. The 2D controls are the start - but free players need to tyre/part data in order to be effective racers too.

It would keep both camps happy. Players that pay get a range of features - 2D, stats, strategy and free players get the proper information they need to race effectively.

Agree with most of what was said here.... showing you the average fuel & tyres used the last time round the track [for subscribers only] would be an advantage to a lot of people [although i work it out myself anyway] as well as perhaps showing the average lap time for soft/hard tyres [or difference in time]  as well as working out how to work your car design [how much you gain per day, and how much you will gain over a season although you can work it out yourself, still gives 2d an advantage {although me a disadvantage as i've worked it out already]

TBF i feel the the difference between 2d and no 2d is minescule now [apart from when you use kers] i know from previous races how long i can be on push hard before i have to back off etc] so could easily compete without 2d with most people on here

I'm on the fence. The only reason I paid for 2D wasn't so I could view the race, but so I had advantage of all of the 2D controls, and I'm sure more than 50% of people who have paid for this game have done it for that very reason - So they can get the most out of their cars on the track. If I had all the information available to me in 1D/free mode, including tyre colour and fuel usage and things of that nature, I simply wouldn't purchase the game and I'd still be a free user.

Don't get me wrong - I see where you guys are all coming from and I understand your points, but I personally only bought 2D so I could control the push levels based on my tyre colour more or less because I was fed up with having to guess what push level to use at each track. If I could see my tyre colour/wear and fuel usage with the 1D/free mode I would cancel my subscription.
