Qualifying understanding

Hi, 
I am struggling to understand qualifying. I am in Avery competitive league, and been fighting for the lead of the league. My biggest handicap has been qualifying, which forces me to work more than my direct rivals. I need to understand what's the criteria used to qualify cars? How should I develop it? Why are my drivers starting in P15 and above, while my rivals are starting bellow P5?

This is really not making the game as fun for me as it was before. 

I having the same problem, won the last 4 races then suddenly qualifying been miss matched. Even with car fuly repaired, same set up l, same tactics ect ones qualifies in 7th and 23rd and next races 3rd and 23rd. I was closing down on the leader untill this happened. 

Even if devs say that there is no problem ....there is a problem

Definitely there must be some sort of a problem. It is unfair to start at the back and have to fight all the way to be competitive with the guys I am challenging at the league. Of course, by the time I get closer, I no longer have KERS to attack or defend. 

It is frustrating at the moment, and I don't see any fix from the developers. 

The same problem months ago.
