Race viewer issues

This is to notify everyone that we are fully aware of the viewer issues being experienced by many players. We will be directing all available resources to address this from tomorrow. Unfortunately, it may take several days to get to the bottom of it and release an update to rectify it (if this is necessary).

I am referring to things such as:

Cars driving through the pits without pitting
Incorrect "Pit" indicator messages
DRS or Boost icons becoming stuck on
Strategy changes sometimes not registering

One engineer started working on this as soon as we heard of it, but from tomorrow the whole team will be shifting their focus to this. We completely understand it's ruining the race experience for people who encounter it, and appreciate the urgency with which you want it addressed.

Rather than being a series of bugs, they are more likely all symptoms of one problem, that once addressed will fix all of the symptoms. We have several theories as to why this might be happening, and we know what regions of infrastructure or code will be related to it. However, at this stage we don't have a clear understanding of why this started happening after the update. It didn't show up in testing, and started after the public release. It could even be related to the number of players online at once, as iGP continues to grow in popularity. We're going to have to add some extra logging to uncover exactly what is going on, but we have clear ideas of where to start our search.

We appreciate your patience as we get to the bottom of this.

Will you also be attempting to resolve the end of race bug that has been ongoing for a while and has been reported elsewhere. As soon as the last car crosses the line instead of the window informing you how much bonus you have/have not earned an error is displayed and the race viewer locks so you can't say "cya" to your best iGP buddies ;-)

Today my car pitted for no reason. I had pitted for inters manually because it started to rain. Ha plenty of fuel left till the end. Then a few laps later car pitted for full wets. There wasn't a way to cancel the pit because the button wasn't showing up. My default strategy was set for full wets once rain reached 3mm but it was only 2.6 or something.Switch to ex softs after 2 laps of dry. (It didn't stop raining). Look at my race data, it shows 27L of fuel and pitting after 2 laps. I didn't hit any "pit now" buttons to anything like that. The only thing different I did was to check sector times from leader board. That's exactly when the problem occurred.

It's probably not technical issues but an usability ones I have but still it's pissing me off every race already. The main reason I didn't use the new launcher until it was forced on me now is that I just can't find the option to scale the GUI anymore. On PC with 27" screen the GUI screens are just way too large to be comfortable and easy to the eye and covering too much of the race track. On the other hand on the smart phone/phablet (browser version) again it's too small to be used comfortably.

Again maybe I just haven't figured it out how it's done now but I only can zoom in and out on the track and not click and pan the view anymore. It just remains where it is, especially annoying after watching a car closely. Additionally with the now expandable car list window (that's a great addition btw) I'd rather have the track slightly more to the left. It helps to click a car and let it move the screen until it's approxiamtely there where I want it but that's not really optimal and doesn't work that well on some tracks.

Frank, do you know that it's possible to scale the interface automatically by scaling your browser window??
Spectate a race and try it :)

Yes, but that scales the view of the track down as well so then the GUI is easier to look at but watching the individual cars while keeping the whole track in view becomes quickly impossible. Furthermore I can't scale the browser window larger than fullscreen on the phone so I can't get it larger this way. At least watching the track doesn't matter there because the screen is too small anyway even on something that is too large for a phone. :-)

Edit: Blast, I must get used to multiple accounts or should have used something like XY the 2nd. The Frank Thomas one is me as well.
