Well, not to barge in here, but talking to guys in my league, interest is on the wane.

We've already lost a bunch of managers in our league, which used to be one of the "premier" leagues on the service (iRacing Lunch Time League), and we're looking at losing even more because the system has stagnated.

It's a vicious circle, because iGP can't progress without capital, but those of us subscribing are losing our drive to contribute that capital the way things stand. It's no reflection on Jack because we all know the context and the challenges he's had to deal with trying to bring iGP back from life support. It's just that it's an expensive game, and paying the same prices to deal with the same bugs year after year gets tiresome.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Teo, a product has to be worth the money (even though from what I hear Jack is highly regarded).

Teo, would you think there is any possible way to garner a large amount of interest of previous players to reinvest, possibly by bringing out a detailed plan with financial goals (such as new subscription goals) with a plan to fix current issues with said funding. Things that reassure people that they aren't just throwing money at something that hasn't progressed to a satisfactory level (for some people).

I don't think there's a way to entice previous subscribers back until there's a big update to the fundamentals of this game - not just the race engine, Monaco bugs, praping, etc. etc. etc., but also the design system, the driver training system, and so forth that basically turn everything into a paint-by-numbers exercise.

I really understand whats going on, and I also see the lag in developement. But as a coder I know, that in most cases things are not that easy, as they seem from outside.
That thread has nothing to do with a constructive (that came from aCb Chapman, not from me) bug report.
There is nothing new in that thread I have not read the last 3 and more years.
Only Jack and the other iGPM coders know, where the backend problems are. If problems are getting to many, it is easy to lose the overview, and make the things more worst than before. So if the coder team has a realistic roadmap - based on the manpower they have - we should respect that.
I'm sure Jack reads every thread, that suggests new features (http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=forum-index/6) and reports bugs (http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=forum-index/10). And I'm also sure, if he finds that useful it will be implemented - in time.

But: What I notice in that threat is just screaming babys, yelling that their toy is broken. 'If I will scream loud enough, maybe mom will buy me a new toy'
And that is nothing I can accept. But your posts show me that you are only able to see your own point of view, without self-reflecting.
So you now may go on with self-praising and yelling - no matter: I'll stop reading here and still have fun playing iGPM, waiting for future features.

Cheers!

Basicly you're insulting at least one person in everything you post. And for the 'the problems are hard to fix' they can't be that hard to take 3 years for a simple bug. When I see those update things posted I see nothing about trying to fix stuff, and just add updates. You've played this game long enough to see that lots of updates (not including the last 10 months or so cause I didn't play) turned out bad and introduced more problems then there were before. And please don't reply here again if you just want to insult people in stead of having a constructive reply ;)

This is exaclty what happened in all the 'big' leagues about a year ago too. For the point of them not joining back with minor updates I disagree because almost everyone I know stopped because the same bug over and over again ruined races.

As a moderator, I was tempted to either close or remove this discussion all together, but after reading over the comments a little more carefully, I'd only like to add a caution, nothing else.

Some would suggest that I should remove it as they might consider it 'riffraff' and getting to the level of childish bickering.  Others might want it left untouched because a few good points have been made about how the game behaves right now.  Agreed, it can be a pain for those of us who put effort into getting the best results we can and feel a little disappointed when it falls apart due to a bug.  Jack is working on it as best time will allow, if you read over his blogs and posts in response to questions you will be able to see how things have changed in the last 6 months and are moving forward at this current time.  I'm not saying you don't  know this as, clearly, many of you do.
Here are some guidelines we'd like all posters to be aware of, not saying that any of you have not followed these but I can sense the tension becoming increasingly thick.

Teo.. Wasn't you apart of the new beta design system we was on way over a year ago.. ?

To all of the others who have posted and made some constructive comments.. Including Scott who is new to the game and could of kept out of things..

Thank you.. It is good to hear about others feeling the same.. and esp the new ones points of view.

I must appologise for my post that may have been a "rage" because it included 3 caps locks and the words "furious and disapointed."  (Please don't go on Youtube then... Man, you'll have a heart attack. lol) :)

but in all serious.. I do thank the ones that have been through this time and time again.. Like I said.. I have £40 to put in to iGP.. Just because it's an excuse to give Jack so more money... I am at a loss.

I'm just sitting listening to yesterday's lecture and thought it would be a bit more productive to comment as I enjoy such managerial games like this, Football Manager, and Baseball Manager and would love to help such an interesting game succeed and grow.

And about the subscription, being a college student on a budget which affords me such delicacies as ramen noodles I am going to have to squeeze out the amount for the year subscription. And probably not being the only one in a tight or strict financial situation the product has to have the value that people will pay for. I plan to use the trial until the last second lol.

Well, I like to be a neutral observer to BPL but I've always enjoyed watching Petr Cech and Hazard so I'm a little bit blue ;). I'm actually watching Chelsea Everton and Man U Burnley on the television/computer. They have all the BPL games viewable here thankfully unlike before where you had to pay for special channels.

I also have a soft spot for Burnley being such a small city and also Stoke City is a team I like. And one last bit I went to the Manchester United/Real Madrid game at the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That was the best football I've ever seen with my own eyes as the MLS isn't really of that quality. *Off-topic discussion over*

No. I kind of wish I had been, but in another way I'm glad I wasn't because then I'd be even more impatient.

@Uncle albert @yuri. I fully agree with you guys they should sort the bases of the game first then go on to doing the fancy stuff, but i think your post will fall on deaf ears as by the looks of things do most of the comments which are critical about the game. Maybe if they listened more to the people playing the game then they could excel to becoming a much better and reliable game. People dont mind getting beat in a game but when its due to a bug its infuriating. I mentioned ages ago on a post, pm and also sent examples about the timeings of the game which is basically the most important thing in the game and got ignored!!! if you add up your lap times they dont match the fully complete time of the race and sometimes its out so much that you could of won or lost a race by the extra time. As for pit times im sure the guy with the stop watch is drunk lol

@Duncan Cunningham   I think it would be fair to leave this post up. I'm sure no rules have been broken by any of the guys previous posts. I do think that is the point of a forum, above we have a fairly heated but constructive conversation regarding issues or               problems that users have faced ect.

Some nice posts recently about this.. Thanks.

1 other thing that I forgot to say was the fact that.. Not only did I lose out or others like me.. but the ones you race against also miss out..

I don't want to win due to someone else getting a bug or having a DC issue.. Meh..

I think that the people who don't know me.. may see me as a ranter.. The ones who have races with me, know I listen to their issues and when I post, I post for multiple people..

I have sent messages out to the ones who have quit, asking why and what can be done to bring them back to the game..

A good example - http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=manager-profile/409

As you can see from the amount of times he joined PCGC's league.. James wanted to come back but wanted to see some changes.. He's not been back for a while now.. :(

I have been out of the game but came back after a year to the same issues, abit whith less drops of races mid game. The game (mostly agreeded with by the devs) has become very old and stagnated, the new tyre system freshened it up a bit, but still the same as before with alot of AFK teams's now able to mix in with active managers. I think there is a major need for some change asap but the issue that I understand is Java isnt the way foward for this game.

The only way out in my opinion is to be totally honest on were this is going because there is no clear and open communication.

Ok that's me done. I just got stuck in the pits for 5 seconds with one driver and the other 13. The game is worse now then it is one year ago.
1: Super soft tires work everywhere, just pit more. 8 pits in a 100% race? no problem on SS. For almost every track there's basicly one tire left in stead of 2
2. where the hell is wet weather? that used to be some of the most stressfull shit and a point where you could really gain time and points
3. this damn bug, never seen it before in my year of daily playing

Please notify me when the game has acually changed for the better, thanks

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0684fhcxdc

I'll explain: first square they pit without any reason, I use 3.9 - 4 per lap and pit with 4.5 left

then between that I loose time on Pop with fresher tires same fuel

then after that I get stuck in the pits for 13 seconds.

Add all of that to the fact there's no strategy anymore, just pit all the time and no rain means that the game is worse then it was a year ago IMO.
