I think setting them based on the player's level is a good idea, at least it would be fair to everyone and award them for the amount of dedication they have spent on the game.
I guess the reimbursement in tokens is an alternative

70% plus a refund of the tokens I have spent on upgrading my headquarters gets my vote :-)

But how on earth do I compete with L20 Managers? I'm currently in a three race per week league, I'll be pushing up daises before I ever reach L20!

Funnily enough, I was just coming here to propose that and say I can easily reimburse tokens spent for existing facilities. The best all-round solution may be the 70% rule combined with reimbursing tokens to anyone who spent them on upgrades thus far.

Jack, how would this work? Would the refunds be automatic or would we need to put in a claim?

Setting the facilities to 70% and reimbursing the already spent tokens sounds good to me.

Automated, I'm coding it now. I'm also re-balancing driver levels as we speak (it's processing in realtime now).

This is what a lot of us are waiting to hear, so your guess is as good as mine.

I'll be applying an update to make the level XP gained after each race dynamic, meaning you level up faster if you race with higher level managers, e.g. level 20 managers. This will go some way to balancing things out over time, but a new spies system is a priority for leagues with wildly varying levels. I have good ideas in mind for this, which can prevent the level gaps between teams from being a problem, but it will take time to implement. A new spies system is probably at least 2 weeks away. But I think realistically, this is the only proper solution that can address it from every angle if done properly.

The situation is much better now than it was in the old game though, where you could start a season with 100% designs. All teams start relatively even after the season reset. The thing is we converted the old percentage values relatively in to the new system, so nobody is actually playing the new game properly yet. The situation is much better in reality than the one which the migration has created. We're stuck with the unblanaced designs of the old game in the new one until seasons renew, and they weren't designed to work together. But of course, we had to do this, because nobody would be happy having all their progress from the current season in the old game taken away during the migration.

It's a case of "one thing at a time" right now. As you can imagine, my inbox is on fire and I'm being pinged constantly about every aspect of the game, while at the same time coding like crazy! We do have answers to the challenges the migration is presenting, and we're working to implement them as soon as possible. Just see the other thread on what's happening today alone: http://igpmanager.com/?url=forum-thread/5515#41360

As expected, my facilities were re-balanced at 70% of my level cap (8), but, inside "Research" tag, item "Boost" and "DRS" are always at Level 1. Is this intentional or did you forget to update it?

It's intentional that these were not upgraded. Also, everyone has Boost & DRS by default now even if they do not have the research facility.

Jack, hoping you can give some feedback on the following, I know your manic busy, and you may have already addressed both, but there are a lot of different posts and impossible to read them all!

1) Balancing of driver skills. We had the position where you couldn't sign a driver beyond your skill level. But it is possible in many real world situations that a team could train a driver, and a driver develops beyond the level of the team. The "balancing" of driver skills has simply destroyed the work and time have put into our drivers. One obvious example is Max Verstappen. He started in Toro Rosso, and could still very easily be there today, but has proven he was obviously a better driver than the car he had.

2) Start of season development. I understand the want and need to stop the 100% car situations of the previous version. However, I think some freedom should still be given to the teams to have a certain number of points to spend BEFORE Australia. As it stands, it will take us a number of races before you see a divergence in regards the directions we all take our cars. This is not really true to life?

/not so negative stuff :D

I always seem to be saying negative stuff.
I am really excited to read the plans for fuel and tyre data from practice runs
The changes to the viewer are very welcome, even if its still a resource hog :D
Generally I am more optimistic than I was in beta.

Here Here.

I have mentioned a few race viewer issues - right now i would give anything for the old data viewer as i cant even follow the race, let alone do anything with it!

Jack - i noted a different error in our previous conversation (relating to the Edge browser). Have you spotted it?
