@jack. Not fair. You gave him the chief designer with 5stars. What about me? I saved money and tockens to get that CD. Thats not how an admin. should behave.

Please read before making accusations. I did no such thing, and despite being asked in every thread, I refused every request. If you mean Sandeep got his staff back, he did so by highlighting a bug which I quickly patched.

As I said, my next priority is to improve the market so everyone who has retiring staff can find a replacement, and I'm even going to spend some of my weekend on it because I appreciate we got caught off-guard by staff with retirement status from the old iGP instantly appearing as retiring after the update.

I no complaining I shortlist listed a lot of people, my new CD's strength is this seasons weakness & his weakness is this seasons strength. I might end up with a balanced car by the end of the season

Well, now one of my staff members can retire at 125 years old, with 37 races remaining in the contract!


Dammit! Thought I was doing well with my 100year old TD https://igpmanager.com/app/d=staff&id=15787 just goes to show you should never underestimate the power of little old ladies.

@Jack : Thanks and very great news for all, I'm impatient to race with managers which were having difficulties to find good staff in the past.

About Mandeep don't mind him, he's in my league and everything is a misunderstanding (he believed the retired staff was back because someone else asked for it).

@IB : Jason Chen might have someone older, I cannot find the thread where he posted it.

@jack we need more market staff, very very high to find some good staff,
maybe you can put in HQ like young driver academy, staff academy to get more use to this HQ feature

When you announced the retirements and urged everyone to extend the contracts with the retiring staff, you forgot to mention that it's not going to be possible to sack the retiring staff unless you pay the release fee, which costs the fortune in my case. I've spent 100 million already since the new iGP started, trying to cope with my rivals and trying to stay competitive. I'm not a veteran player and I don't have the luxury of legacy billions some of the experienced managers probably accumulated over time. I was patient with all abrupt changes so far, but I think sh*t has hit the fan in my case this time. It's unbelievable how some trivial things, which could have been easily solved during beta testing are plaguing the game right now (including staff market). I completely understand and respect everything what you and you small team of devs have done so far, but some of the hasty and reckless decision you've done recently are really starting to annoy me now.

I am all for retirement and whilst some managers will be caught out by contracts that end soon (my retiring staff member has 40 races left on his contract so i have a win this time!), it is still swings and roundabouts.

i had some staff waiting in 1 team(this one) for my other 3 teams to level up during this week but they all retired, all 6 staff, going to cost me £100 million to sack them now as they are cant be switched to other teams or sold. its a disaster for this team, wished id know about it would of sold them b4 and not just signed them up to this team in the few days before this change.

I've just applied an update to the transfer market to improve the algorithm and show more highly rated options. I can tweak it if it needs any further balancing, but it shouldn't need much of a change now. It's absolutely certain to show highly rated options no matter the circumstances. That was the major change to the algorithm.

I hope to add a scouting feature at some point which will also allow managers to quickly find even more highly rated options.

As for the other situation which has affected Enzo and Ognjen (the only two teams who have said they had this issue so far), I don't mind making an exception in your cases and giving you some extra Tokens which you can use to make an investment to keep the team in good shape. Obviously, it was not your fault as I did not notify you of the cost to fire retiring staff. I will PM you both to resolve the situation amicably and fairly, without giving an advantage.

Just for statistics: It did happen with my doctor as well. Since I didn't actually noticed any difference between 4 and 4.5 star doctors I instead sold the supposed replacement again and, unless I find a 5 star doctor of which I have never seen one before on the market (yet), let the contract run until it expires or I level again. So no action needed here because it probably won't be much contract time left by then and the lost token for the new one was purely my fault for not checking if or how I still can fire retiring staff.

@Blunion: I've increased in level recently and was looking for better staff and figured it out once I signed a new TD. The sack button was greyed out before that and I wasn't aware of it.

@Jack: Thanks for being considerate and sorry if I was too harsh about my rant earlier.

The retirement code hasn't run on staff in the market. They only make a decision when signing a contract, so the first guy that signs him will probably find him retiring.

Will it work as of the olde version in that they say is retiring at end of contract, but you can keep extending the contract for as long as you need?

Unforunately not Simon. From experience once the retirement icon appears you are unable to renew the contract. If you then take on another staff member and try to get rid of the retiree before their contract expires you'd better have deep pockets 'cos it's going to cost you millions.

Thanks need to check age as well before signing any staff, hope there must be a warning as well while bidding for such staff
