@Simone Gilardi : That always happened without problems for me, I'll retest it to see if there is a bug.

@Blunion : Thanks, hope that will help a lot of new players ;)

Awesome, Joey! I haven't been playing this for very long but have figured out a bit and was thinking something like this would be really helpful for those who didn't pick up on all these details. Will recommend to others. Looking forward to the Pro guide as well =).

That would be curious and quite crucial I'd say, some beginners may just spend all tokens at once like I did

Great guide Joey.

In auction the tokens are not refunded, there were quite some complaint threads in the bug forum about that lately but Jack wrote it's intended behavior. So maybe that could be mentioned in the transfers section. You don't bid that token, you buy to be able to place a bid.

I'm sorry, but this beginners guide is missing a very important point that I think almost all beginners like me don't know.
Is there the rule about the tyres like in the real F1? Or can I just do all the race with the same tyres? For example, can i do a race with SS-SS-SS-SS? Or am I forced to use two different tyres, just as in F1? Is there DSQ if I use only one kind of tyre?
Thanks.

PS: Thank you very much for this great guide :D

You can use one compound for the entire race, there are no forced choices.

Maybe I miss somewhere, but how many engine per restock by supplier?

I love the beginners guide! I'm a few days into iGP, and loving it so far. I do have a question about the track parameters.
When you go to next race, you see the 4 parameters of the track, but is there a place where you can see the overtaking chances, road bumpiness, fuel consumption and tyre wear of each track?
Because the only history I have yet is the 5 races I've done so far, but if I could see the parameters of the races I've done so far, I can compare them with the next race, and have a starting point to try the car set-up in practice.

Thanks in advance!

@Simone Gilardi : You were right, I did tests with 2 teams bidding on each other and with one team bidding alone on 1 staff and in all situations no tokens were refunded so I updated this section, thanks again.

@Bion Bion : There is no rule like this in iGP, that's why I did not talk about it but I think it might be good to mention it in the guide.

@Muhammad Faris : This is in the help section regarding rules that's why I did not pointed it :
"You receive 10 engines per car for every 20 races you complete from your engine supplier"

@Boris van den Berg : No, you can only see it before a race, personally I kept them in a calc :

green = "good", red = "bad"

In my experience fuel consumption in terms of litres/100 km dosn't change no matter what the bar on the circuit overview says. Australia is the same as China is the same as Hungary. Specific fuel consumption only seems to be affected by fuel economy dp and a little bit by push, not by circuit. I.e. if you use harder tyres and therefore push harder your fuel consumption will rise the circuit has little or no effect.

At 42% Fuel Economy DP my cars use:
Australia 45.5 litres/100 km
China 45.9 litres/100 km
Hungary 45.5 litres/100 km

Is there a way to affect the development of your car in preparation for the next season?

Benjamin... In a nutshell the answer is Yes.
Next season's starting design is affected by your Chief Designer. The more stars he/she has the higher the initial design. A 5 star designer will give you maximum design points.
The other thing that affects the distribution of dp is the strength and weakness of your Chief Designer.
Assuming you've only had one CD for the entire previous season, six of the eight design attributes will receive the same number of dp, the attribute which your CD is weak will receive about half the number of dp as the other six and the attribute where your cd is strong will receive a greater number of points.
Finally there will be a further three "bonus" supplier points. The attributes to which these are assigned are based on which suppliers you choose.

Ok so I have a 5* cheif designer, level 13. Most people in my league are level 10 or below yet I started with 12 design points and 6 in my weakest category whereas they started with 50ish. I joined mid/end of the last season but won all but one of the races I completed. Now I'm struggling to get points... Did I need to set something differently to maximise my season?

There's the key statement; you joined late last season. So you technically only had a few races to develop your next season's car

Added paragraph about Technical center because building it is not enough to get better boosts.
Added paragraphs about the Livery editor and the 10 free parts per day for mobile players.
Updated DRS zones and finish lines for better accuracy.
Corrected syntax mistakes plus some minor text changes.
Updated beginner guide version as it is now the final version.
