Was the car wear changed and I did miss it?

No, if you are meaning the amount a car's parts degrade, it was not changed. What makes you think this? I'm curious to know.

Because so many people bring it up in the discussion of ads available and that is it for them now harder than before. But if the car wear wasn't changed no one who has built up his manufacturing facility is worse off than before. And that is what I wanted to be sure about.

Almost all apps have adds. This one didn't at one point.
Did we all really think the fairy tale would continue to have a happy ending?
C'mon ppl! 21st century here! If you're not making money, how do you suppose to stay off the red?
I barely use the ad rewards, mainly because I focus on what my team needs.
Having said that, when it gets to the point where in fact I can't be competitive without "having to" buy tokens on a regular basis......then it'll be time to move on... it's the nature of the business.... some get too deeply addicted and some understand it's just a game... we all must decide which side we're on.

Personally, the devs have given advertisers far too much control. Who's got the cookie here?

iGP;

you made the icons look more appealing...great!
you made direct gaming adjustments(tyre ware)....great!
how about letting us pick our car number from an individual league generated pool of numbers?....ok..not yet.
Maybe let us choose our own car livery?....nope....ok...we can wait for that.
Yes, we thank you for creating such a diversified app. Absolutely!
We thank you for addressing our technical issues ever so promptly...Remarkable!
Free stuff is always welcome. but is it really free at the end?

I'm thinking the devs read the forum at least as much as I do to realize that there's so much more players are looking for in similar apps. There are so many great ideas out there.... I have yet to read anywhere the need/suggestion and/or want of video ads to improve this particular app.
You've made so many moves in the last few months....I think it's time to decide where igp is going to be positioned among its peers. And maybe that's what's happening here.

My point?....

Ads are a well known component of most free aps... most of us get that...What we don't get is how you are trying to dress it up and make it seem it's as a game saver. It's not.... it's a marketing scheme directed at generating added side revenue...again... we can all relate to that... nothing new so far.  Personally, I will continue to watch your ads as show of support. I have no problem with that..  I'll even buy tokens at least once a month because I feel this app provides me with a satisfactory amount of entertainment value. Most of us will agree to that.
Do what you need to do to stay off the red iGP...As a consumer however, I hold you equally accountable to provide me with relevant not just visual but technical improvements that will make a direct positive impact in my gaming experience.

As for the rest of us that don't like ads.... Let us all be thankful that we actually have a choice to view them or not. I'm sure that was not an easy task to achieve by Igp. I'm glad they did.

Thanks for reading.
Cheers!

A quick question - Does developing reliability reduce the number of parts used each race?

It's month now where ads don't work correct. I couldn't keep up with the parts and used a lots of coins to have a working car. Now after they ads system change it's still the same. I can't watch ads because the buttons still don't work when clicked. It's starting to get really frustating to me.

Dan -ads are now pure luck. U might get 1 or none can be ages till get any. New way as diff incentives have now been introduced. I think it not best but that’s it. I had 4 ads in 10 days.

If your going to spend coins use it to accelerate parts building.  You want 10 minimum and then build reliability and you should cope with building up enough parts again for a while.

So the IOS update seems a bit more stable. ran the Cache removal and so far its better. I see few ads but when it does come back it responds as it should not hangs like it did.

Try the new update (3.36), it contains many fixes including this.

Good to hear, as expected!

Hamlet
iGP;you made the icons look more appealing...great!

Well, I did that while the rest of the team worked on other things.

Hamlet
how about letting us pick our car number from an individual league generated pool of numbers?....ok..not yet.

If a moderator or someone else has publicly approved this without consulting us I'll have to talk to them. We've never said we'd add this to my knowledge, so the use of "not yet" in this context has left me wondering if you have the impression that it's on its way?

Hamlet
Maybe let us choose our own car livery?....nope....ok...we can wait for that.

Assuming you mean creating custom liveries in photoshop or something (since the livery editor already matches the given description), who is going to devote their time to moderating them? The reality is that as soon as that is made available, people are going to start drawing genitals, offensive symbols, hate speech and infringing copyright on their designs. It requires a bigger team than we have to curate and manage thousands of submissions like that on an ongoing basis.

That makes this also something for the future potentially, but not at this time.

Hamlet
You've made so many moves in the last few months....I think it's time to decide where igp is going to be positioned among its peers.

It was decided a long time ago, but if we haven't communicated it well, then that's our fault, and I will take personal responsibility for that as my blogs in particular need bringing up to date. We are aiming to bring lots of exciting news soon on this front, and show what we've been working on and where we're taking iGP Manager in the year ahead.

Hamlet
Ads are a well known component of most free aps... most of us get that...What we don't get is how you are trying to dress it up and make it seem it's as a game saver. It's not....

This is a bit hyperbolic. I'm simply explaining that we've become more informed on how ads work and been advised to change the way we deliver ads by the ad networks. I would be amazed if there is even a single quote where I describe ads as a "game saver" because I don't even think of them like that, so again how you've received that message I don't know.

I've simply been posting in this thread because it's what I personally have been working on. Maybe I'm more visible than the rest of the team who don't make many visits to the forum, but that doesn't mean that's all that is going on or that the team as a whole thinks this is all that matters.

Hamlet
As a consumer however, I hold you equally accountable to provide me with relevant not just visual but technical improvements that will make a direct positive impact in my gaming experience.

A reasonable request. At the same time, it's not very reasonable to assume the technical improvements will be the ones you prefer or that they arrive in your preferred order. The reality of what goes into your thought process there versus ours is perfectly illustrated above by the example of liveries, where you want creative freedom on liveries, but we have to have a team of people to moderate that, ensure the terms of service are respected and consider the potential for copyright infringement for brands we may even want to partner with in future.

Hamlet
As for the rest of us that don't like ads.... Let us all be thankful that we actually have a choice to view them or not. I'm sure that was not an easy task to achieve by Igp. I'm glad they did.

Thanks, I appreciate you adding this. It's not always easy to say something positive on the outside, where it's far easier to point out what we don't like about a product all the time than it is to praise the work that goes into it.

Hamlet
when it gets to the point where in fact I can't be competitive without "having to" buy tokens on a regular basis......

If it's ever at that point, let us know. That's definitely not our intention whatsoever, and there are plenty of checks and balances designed in to the game to prevent that from ever being the case. Ads are one alternative among many to buying stuff and another is time, where the game is 100% free but needs more time investment.

Hamlet
Personally, the devs have given advertisers far too much control. Who's got the cookie here?

I don't understand what you mean. We built the game without ads and nobody complained about the dynamics or that they needed to buy Tokens to be competitive. We layered in ads into the already existing non-ads game that nobody complained about before ads existed, then the conversation changed. That's when we started hearing from people that it was unbalanced - one reason we've been working to address that imbalance.

Jack, I respectfully accept your responses.
as for my "too much control to advertisers" comment; I was referring to a post I read where the reason not everyone gets the same number of ads is because the advertisers choose where and when to show their ads. If that's not the case, then life is good. But even if that's the fact, I don't feel they're a having a negative effect on game play.

If you are having any problems viewing ads, please try the new 'Clear cache' option in the settings page. It's only available in-app, by going to the bottom of the menu and clicking the 'cog' icon to the settings page, or opening this URL in the app: https://igpmanager.com/app/p=settings&tab=general

If the issue on iOS persists after clearing the cache, we'll need someone who is having the problem to join our beta program in order to understand what is going on. We could make builds rapidly and send them to you until it's resolved. At the moment, it isn't clear why you are not able to see any ads, but I would try the cache clear option first. If that fixes it please let us know.

After using it for a while now.  While adds take a bit more time to reappear they always work.  It’s not obvious a limit is reached as they just disappear but it works and I can’t ask for more right now.

Now I can go back to moaning about the lack of in race overview on the app vs web 😂

Is this coming? Be good to get more race info to help with strategy in a race on IOS.

Thanks again for the hard work getting ads right. I know we don’t all agree on the new changes but hey can’t please us all.

Hi Guys,

Not sure how much control you have over the content being provided in the adds, but said I would just mention that on Saturday night a number of the adds where directly loading the Playstore on my android device. I wasnt selecting the adds, when they ended the story just loaded to the game in question.

It was late so I didnt think to take screen shots etc. Just said I would mention it.
