@Brendan, your strategy, if based on the "old" numbers for tyre wear and fuel use would have been right off. not being at the race will impair the ability to be dynamic when changes like this come in, but it doesn't mean that you won't suss out the changes over a few races and be competitive again.
I understand that I do, like I said above, I full accept there is more than a greater chance I'm not using suppliers to their fullest. However, when other managers who were online make the same amount of stops, on the same brand of tyre(all suppliers for that matter), and the same length of stints, finishing with no wasted fuel, finishes 2 minutes quicker, when the rest of the season you were fighting and exchanging wins and podiums then the changes have massively favoured the people who can attend the race, and made it near on impossible for us in none popular timezones to remain involved in the game. Yes we could start our own league, but its not the point, I want to race against many people, with the chances of promotion etc, not just a few of my friends and same people over and over again all stuck in rookie.
If the rivals had used different suppliers, or different compounds or whatever then I completely understand and well played to them, however when all is 'equal' in the suppliers, and the stints, the only difference they were online, thats removing an entire playing group from the site. I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands of people who still compete, still contribute, still pay to be a subscriber that don't attend the live race.
Don't get me wrong change is good, very good, however not at the expense of half the sites playing experience. Ive always known that I'm not making the most out of my package by not attending the races, however was still possible to compete and in the simplest of terms to finish on the podium let alone the same lap.
