Strategy Tool

Hi Jaime, I got it just fine from the second link he posted on the first post of this page.

that link says its v1.5 where as i see from the page 7 it has moved on to 3.5?

Has anybody improved on the Strategy Tool?

Wow, I remember using Ricardo Speedking's iGP calculator v3.5 about 1 year ago... However once I became familiar with the game I didn't need it anymore.

What did the calculator do? I never understood it because it was too jumbled up to me.

That is where I got it but it didn't make much sense to me because I use two compounds in a race & lots of the time the fuel is the same but on a higher push level & that strategy tool doesn't account for that.

The file has a column where you can put the push level intended for that stint. It makes a diference in fuel usage. Sometimes it can be just 0,1L or 0,2L per lap, so it doesn't add up much liters in short stints, sometimes only 1L more.
It never failed me (i use Donelots, Elves and Murk). Other supliers will surely have diferent values.

I noticed that Ricardo but it was telling me more fuel that what I was using :|

Lets take Australia for example at 22 degrees Rednote & Elves
softs push level 1&2 is 3.9 per lap
Med tyres are push 2&3 and is 3.9 per lap

The reason there is two push levels in use is because staying on only one the tyres are either cold or too hot also the weather plays a part cooler days result in higher push levels but the fuel load stays the same.

I sure the strategy tool works great using only one tyre but for me it is just complicating things :D

I just downloaded this tool and had a quick look (great job by the way)

My question is whether somneone who is considerably more skilled than me in Excel can build in the pit strategies so that they work with different compounds.
Perhaps at the top, where you get the fuel strategy, there could also be a drop down list to choose compounds.

The spreadsheet can then work out your wear rate and perhaps even suggest if you are selecting the wrong compound ?!
I am really enjoying this game so far and it's nice to see a pretty active community.

It can be done. Can't remember who it was but someone was working on one where it told you what tyre to select based on the amount of fuel used in the stint. Not sure if they will make it public or not once they get it finalised, but it is a great idea that might bring more strategy into the game.

And yes we are a very pretty, helpful & happy bunch here in the iGP community, no matter what time you call in there is always peeps online :)

Why can't I see lap times and speed when I'm doing test runs? Is there anyone who can help me with that?

Test run times and speed are disabled. They caused some sort of problem. Maybe people noticed that the car setup not to the drivers liking was faster than what he did like. One of the Dev team would know the answer to that.

i have done some thing similer to my spreed sheets which now has many additions to it.

The strategy tool will need to be completely re-worked when the new iGP arrives. Otherwise, it will be obsolete.

Is somebody going to be changing the strategy tool or making a new one for the new igp now that it has arrived
