I’ll start this by praising the devs and wanting to take the game to the next level, fair play and it’s clear to see a lot of work has gone in to this. Unfortunately, it isn’t quite working yet. Using the app on the iPad Pro, I encountered the following in a race in Australia (league is set to 2x):

  • Practice - the tyres make no difference. All times basically the same no matter what compound you’re on. If this is an update to make the Hard more useable, great, but this isn’t the way to do it.

  • Qualifying - We had positions 1-19 separated by 0.010s. I know for a fact that development isn’t that close, and we had 3 different tyre compounds in use! Madness. Also, a 1:03.4 in Australia? The lap record is 21 seconds slower than that!

  • Race - Firstly you can no longer join through the league and clicking ‘Live’ as the app just closes

  • Then the actual race, the cars are impossible to follow on a 2x speed. DRS and KERS are basically pointless and no longer have any sort of effect as are tyre choices, might as well all run on Hards and go long as there is no pace difference what so ever.

  • One corner I’m 1.17 behind, the next i’m 0.62 ahead for no reason. Could be the lag, but it was impossible to see what was happening, and unraceable.

I did try a quick race, and I can say that was good. Again, tyres, DRS and KERS are now completely pointless, but apart from that, the race was smooth.

Hopefully you can fix some issues very quickly, because at the moment the racing isn’t going to happen, but as I said, I commend you for trying to take the game forward, just a shame it’s happened without a proper testing phase.

so besides the needed optimization to become smooth again. i had an issue with the mac/pc app
the link provided to download the app is wrong
is automaticly linked me to this link - https://static.igpmangaer.com/standalone/osx/iGPManager.zip
soon i found out that someone by mistake wrote the name of the game wrong.
as soon as i put the link https://static.igpmanager.com/standalone/osx/iGPManager.zip the download worked but not the app xD

we had the same problem with the x2 speed, it was more of a x5 speed, impossible to keep track of things yes

Biggest problems in my league when it comes to bugs:
Driver positions were all effed (my two drivers showed as being in p5 when i was in fact 2nd and 4th, the guy on p3 showed as if he was on p4 and on top of the leaderboard, guy on p4 still showed as if he was on p4 after being overtaken, etc)
The game literally crashed midrace, couldn't rejoin till like 2 or 3 laps later
Can't tell about 3d cause i didn't try it myself, but other players from my league said that they noticed lag/the 3d mode being very laggy and basically unplayable if you actually want to have a minimum chance of doing something that's not finishing last (our league is at x2 speed)

Kali

On top of everything, every single track I tried has changed the DRS placements!??!?! What? Why?

Conor

but imo as stated by Kali and Conor the DRS placements (such as putting DRS in literally the shortest straights of some circuits lol) along with the DRS strength have probably been one of the worse if not the worst thing to happen, as i mentioned in another thread. Our race was a snorefest (literally like a wet race where you cant overtake unless you boost, because DRS was literally useless), and i don't think anyone likes that; the one who starts from p1 has a much bigger advantage now. Still not sure why that was changed but something really needs to be done about DRS, such as bringing the DRS zones back to where they were supposed to be to begin with lol.

I appreciate the work from everyone who's involved with this game, but there are some decisions that really don't make sense at all to me and to a lot of other people who have been playing this for a while now.

Has the update had an impact on times? As one two teams(who done a lap before the update) in practice are 7 seconds faster per lap  than those who have only just done them

Had the same at Brazil today. It had been remodelled which could account for the speed difference. Or it's to make the lap times more in line with real life

First of all, congrats devs on a step forward in making the game look better. I don't know why people are implying you've killed the game. Obviously there will be bugs and teething problems but we know they will be fixed.

So, tried a quick race in Abu Dhabi (after about an hour of the glitch where it just stayed on the setup screen I got into a race), and it was really good. Bit choppy here and there, but DRS worked fine and as expected, as did KERS. All good there.

But then ran into a few problems when my league race in Australia was due to start. First off, lap times were basically similar across the board (not just for my drivers, but for all drivers in league. I was the only one to quali on SS and got outpaced by soft runners - and it wasn't a car development issue). DRS was not where it was usually, and KERS was basically mirrored (usefull during corners, useless in acceleration zones). But I'm sure you're well aware of these issues.

Don't know if it's a bug but when pitting in quick race, I tried to turn the aerial camera around, but it did not want to stay static to where I wanted it positioned (whereas it would to some degree during on-track racing). It would keep slowly spinning back to where it wanted to go. If it's not a bug maybe it's something that could be implemented?

Also, although very nicely done scenery/buildings, they can get in the way when in aerial view and impede said view quite a bit (sector 3 - Abu Dhabi). I can foresee it getting tiresome to have to swing the view around every lap at certain parts of the track to avoid scenery.

Very well done on this update though. Exciting potential!

Are theses lap times desired by the team or Is there a beug? Because it's really insane  how fast it is

I'm not going to lie, I ran a few QRs in 3D mode on my windows 10 piece of junk laptop. Yes there were a few flitches, but I was getting immersed from a couple of the camera angles. Really like the in-car view, but the chase view has the driver info box blocking the view of the track ahead. Otherwise chase view might be the way to go. From the helicopter view, the races in cities with tall buildings seem to render that view mostly useless, which is unfortunate since I really like that view as well. And not really sure how that could get improved. Perhaps option to rotate the helicopter cam automatically to see the track ahead? In closing, I am going to give the 3D view a chance, but only in QRs until the hiccups are rectified. Then I'll likely use 3D in my league races. Still a bit gunshy about doing a league race in 3D now. But it's awesome, nicely done. 🍻🏁

QR at Australia.

Went to race from browser and when clicking Go To Race it asks to open the app, so i do so, but it will not connect. Logged out of browser and just opened app and it went straight in so i think it needs to auto logout of the browser when the app starts up or maybe it needs to disregard the browser being open as well.

The race ran perfectly fine for me here, there are a couple of spots, final turn for one, where the car runs off over the grass.

Not sure if fuel and tire wear have been updated or not but they were difficult to cool (soft at 15/16deg) and i had 6 laps worth of fuel and pitted on lap 7. last run was the same fuel but ran out on final turn even though i ran mostly in PL1.

Didn't notice anything else but the best part was that i won!!

Much more fluid and stable race than Monaco.

Thanks to the last few posters for the very helpful and constructive feedback. We'll remove posts at our own discretion that start lecturing how to build a game etc. they are not bug reports (this is a bug report thread), so not much use to anyone here. Such views are welcome in opinion threads, but we'll be spending our attention on development tasks.

We're going to get on top of the issues present in this first release and do our best to respond to all of your feedback with action and patches soon. I think some people will be pleasantly surprised by how quickly many things improve. It won't happen overnight, but the tough work was building a 3D game from the ground up. Patching it is going to be a walk in the park in comparison. Changing DRS zones on all tracks shouldn't take more than a couple of days, for example. Overall, the launch went significantly better than two other 3D online racing manager games I watched launch in the past year. I won't name names but they were unplayable for weeks. It's already going a lot better for us after a few hours than it was for them after a few days/weeks. That bodes really well for where we'll be in a week, a month, a year etc.

Just finished a league race at European, the water was flashing so much it probably needs an epileptic warning to go with it
The rubber banding was on overdrive with the cars bouncing all over the place
When you adjust the push level it spins the screen around which is not helpful

Leaving aside the 3D mode which is currently impossible to play, I would like to point out that both Windows 10 and Norton Antivirus try to block the app for lack of an attenuable digital signature.

Personally I think 3D is a great idea but right now there just isn't any reason to use it over 2D as you're at a disadvantage. Additionally, it lags for me only in cockpit camera, the other three are fine. Also, will the track layouts and drs zones go back to the originals? The immersion doesn't seem to be there now that the tracks are slightly different and drs seems useless now.

Spa was alright. Bit of a treat using the old bus stop chichane.

Countdown was on time but the lights never went red at all then they just went off screen.
Cars on left of grid did a sudden 45deg turn to the right.
My car did an Evergreen on the pit exit, just briefly blocking the canal.

Other than that it was fine, just a small bit of latency on lap 1.

Would be nice to have a 2-car team QR just to see how that would pan out.

Edit: Will all DRS zones be included or will they just be put back to where they were? Thanks.
