Welcome to the fourth and final blog in our series about the new iGP Manager! The wait is almost over—mark your calendars for Wednesday, 5th February 2025, when the revolution begins! This blog unveils transformative updates to Rookie Tier, Sprint Races and more, redefining iGP Manager for 2025 and beyond.

New Tutorials: A Seamless Start

Our new tutorials make jumping into iGP Manager effortless. Styled to match the revamped UI, they guide new players through racing and livery design in just a few animated, easy-to-follow steps. It’s a fresh, simplified start designed to engage first-time players and ensure they’re ready to take on the competition

This refreshed approach aims to significantly improve first-time player engagement and retention, as we prepare the community to grow at a rate never seen before.

Rookie Revolution

Sprint Races and the new Rookie Tier are central to this update. Sprint Races replace Quick Races, delivering fast-paced competition with simplified car design and setup systems.

The Rookie Tier has moved to public Sprint Races, where players compete until Level 10 before joining leagues in the Pro Tier. This shift ensures all Rookie Tier participants are active players, creating a dynamic environment for newcomers to learn and enjoy. Leagues meanwhile will only get proven, dedicated players who have earned their stripes.

In the new Rookie Tier and Sprint Races, we’ve introduced a streamlined car design and setup system. The fixed system which allowed no customisation is gone, replaced by an improved slider GUI enabling up to 10,000 possible unique car attribute and setup combinations. Emphasise aero or mechanical performance, car setup or design, or strike a balance between them all. This dynamic system helps new players learn the ropes and adds depth for experienced managers looking for exciting gameplay on the go.

Leagues now consist of just two tiers: Pro and Elite. For leagues previously populated solely by rookies, we’ve put a migration process in place. Managers above Level 10 will automatically move into the Pro Tier when the update launches. We will be happy to offer our manual support for leagues racing only in the Rookie tier, e.g. by promoting all level 10+ managers to Pro within the same league. Detailed information about this transition will be published in the forums and announced in-game at the launch.

Why This Change?

By centralizing Rookie gameplay in Sprint Races, we eliminate inactive Rookie accounts from the pool altogether. They will vanish discreetly rather than being a mobile chicane in a league. Hosts will find their workload reduced, able to focus on running the newly consistently populated Pro Tier, and Elite remains untouched. This provides a smoother progression while enhancing the experience for everyone.

  • Only dedicated managers will join leagues. Not people trying the game for the first time.

  • Every lobby will be filled with real-time participants for Sprint Races.

  • Pro will always be populated and active.

  • Elite is unchanged and the experience loved by our most dedicated players is preserved.

Easy Progress Tracking

The level progression tracker on the home page outlines all unlocks and milestones along the way, making it easy to see what’s coming next in your iGP Manager journey.

A Vision for the Future

With all of the updates for the past few years, we’ve been progressively setting the stage for something much bigger. Now with 3D races, 3D character models, the new GUI, the new Rookie tier, Sprint Races, AI Assistant and more, the completed vision is coming into sight.

  • A highly populated ecosystem: Every tier and race bustling with active players.

  • Events and esports: In the updates following this one, we will begin rolling out tournaments and events for the community.

  • Deeper immersion: 3D races, 3D character interactions, cutscenes and AI integration.

In summary, this is not a regular visual or feature update. This is a complete modernisation of iGP Manager and all underlying systems. Every aspect of the software, hardware, SDKs, APIs and more have been modernised. This will enable us to finally address your most requested features, like improving car behavior in the pit lane, adding new tracks, then revisiting the Safety Car and Wheel-to-Wheel racing. All of this is on the cards in the months ahead. With this update, we’re not only introducing some new features—we’re breaking free of limitations that have held us back for years.

Getting to this point stretched our resources to the limit, as we remain fully independent and self-published. After three years of organic growth with no marketing, we’re now preparing for a major push to bring iGP Manager to a wider audience and record-breaking growth.

We’re incredibly excited for all of this and more in 2025 and beyond. Buckle up!

Is there anything more then to ensure that elite races will be more equal in a stand point other then the people who have been playing the longest winning. I feel like us lower level 25 people should also have a chance maybe not even a win but at least points and podiums.

If you are mid-season and you get promoted to the pro tier, do you keep the championship points or do they get reset?

After deliberating among veterans in our league, we find this update to be a dangerous "bet" on all new managers liking and joining the game, while disregarding the remaining user base. We won't hide our dissapointment with the update. We expected at least more depth, specially the new "car" we thought it was related to new technical features to be customized, more team management and improving race preparations, among other things. New circuits and aesthetics are 2nd place for us
