We will be moving the entire service to a new hosting provider. This is one of the biggest projects we have undertaken with iGP Manager.
Why move? To greatly improve the quality and scalability of the service. Our aim is to reduce the number of faults significantly once we have settled in, and create the possibility of scaling well beyond current levels with no loss in quality.
When will the move happen? 28th August. I've posted a schedule below.
All races on the day of migration will be moved to the next suitable date. This 24 hour period without races will give us time to run checks on all of the systems and should be a large enough safety margin to account for any foreseeable issues. The websites and apps will be online during most of this time.
How long will it take? The websites and apps will function for much of the day of the migration. We expect the maintenance message on the websites and app (during which it won't be accessible) to last for art least 12 hours. To minimise disruption as much of this as possible will be during the least busy hours. We hope by peak hours (late afternoon in Europe) to be back online with normal service.
Detailed lap-by-lap race result data (shown after you click on a driver in results) will be deleted in the move. Race results will remain. Unfortunately, due to the volume of lap-by-lap data we cannot justify including this in the move. I recently added CSV Export which will allow you to export this data before it is deleted, so if you wish to keep it please do that as soon as you can. Although recent efforts to prune this data to manageable levels have been successful, it is still so large that it cannot be justified to take it in the migration. Note: lap-by-lap data will resume and be available on all races that occur after the migration.
