Reverse Grid To Stop People Le

Obviously there has always been a number of people why try the game and then decide to leave at some point from not being involved in points and podiums, they just don't want to invest move time in something that seems boring and futile. But now, as we are seeing in our league, players who have been heavily involved and great competitors for many seasons are so disillusioned they are leaving leagues and possibly the game. Our league used to be very competitive with about 16 teams fighting regularly in the points and half a dozen in with a real chance of winning the championship. But after an influx of higher rated players from other league all that has been obliterated and now we're left with a huge disparity between 4 or 5 players at the top and then the rest. One respected player has left and and others will go if this continues next season which will be a crying shame when many of us have worked so hard to create a great league. 
An answer? The option to switch to reverse grids. The administrator of each league should have the option to make his league an RG league, Reverse Grid. Maybe this could be after a vote but either way it would definitely even out leagues, involve EVERYBODY in races, more people in the points and less chance of a few managers completely dominating every season at the detriment of the league. SURELY it has to be worth a trial at the very least, even F1 has had serious talks about it. Who knows iGP could turn out to be the pioneers leading the way!

You're not punishing anyone, same if F1 brought it in as they've suggested. Usain Bolt never got a head start so why should Lewis Hamilton? It would just mean the better managers would not be able to run away with it and the weaker teams would be involved a lot more. If the players want it then why not. I'm a higher rated manager in our league but it gets a bit silly when its the same 5 or 6 racing away with it, I'd much rather be in a league where everyone is involved to some degree.

Hence the handicaps (and you can do that already), you don't need to wait for iGP.

This is a solution to this from another game I play.

Leagues should the ability to public or private (this is different to those that are currently password protected).  Both Public and Private Leagues would show up in the search function and players could access everything they can see now. The difference would be that to join a Private League you would need to ask the host.  This would allow you check whether a player is too strong/not strong enough for your league.  The value would really be for Elite tier

The difference would be that to join a Private League you would need to ask the host.  This would allow you check whether a player is too strong/not strong enough for your league.  The value would really be for Elite tier 



1. How will the host of a league know if a manager is too weak/strong for the league?

2. Due to the perceived strength or weakness of a manager, he/she will be denied access? Isn’t that a bit discriminatory? AFAIK, a manager can’t be removed from a league without a reasonable cause and being too weak/strong definitely doesn’t qualify.



If a host wants to control entry of managers, the password feature works like a charm. That’s more than enough.

2.  Pretty standard approach to most games with Alliances and you can argue that Leagues in iGP Manager are similar to Alliances.

3.  Password protected leagues are hidden so how would a manager know if they are worth joining?  How are private leagues discriminatory if password protected leagues aren’t?

4.  This is not about removing managers and whether a league was public or private it wouldn’t have any negative impact on that aspect.

5. Its just a suggestion to solve a perceived problem happening to some leagues.  Not perfect, but there rarely is a perfect solution to perceived problems.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean by password word protected leagues then as when I see someone’s league history and there is a locked league you can’t view it without knowing the password.  Therefore you don’t know any details about it or who the host is, so how can you contact them?

I think I understand what you mean now when you say private 😅🤦.


Maybe have the password protected leagues as it is now, but host information available? A button that says ‘Contact host’

I agree, it would be useful if private leagues could have 2 settings: closed (password needed to see) and protected (can't join without password or invite)
I know it's off topic though, Imo there is no reason to penalize the best (3D already did)

I LOVE 3D! So it's ok to penalize the not so strong? This game like any other thrives on competition and if it's not then it's justifiable to say 'what's the point' and leave which they've started to do in our league which used to be very competitive until 6 big boys moved in!

They are rules the host of your league implements and posts on the league wall.


Let’s use Monaco for instance:

You can have the top 3 qualify on hards and then use it for a specific number of laps, could be 1, 2 whatever.

4 - 10 mediums, 10 - whatever free choice of tyres…

My sister league already does it in a way. I was going to do a P1 from previous race pits first lap, P2 pits 2nd lap and so on for the top 6 this season but may do it next season if i can get enough managers back in, so kind of a reverse grid but mainly just giving the lower level managers a fighting chance. 

Both leagues already do 2-tire rule. Tell it how it is or put up a Poll with suggestions and see what the response is.

The host needs to implement them and keep track of everyone respecting them. Just like most do already with the two-tyre rule.


Someone sort of has to put some work in if they want a successful league. Or a successful anything for that matter.

They have to pit manually, so done on trust and post race monitoring by host.
