Richard

sounds fair, thanks for taking on all of the criticism and highlighting new bugs well and not getting downhearted by it :)

Thanks. Off-topic: Not everyone on the team is as unaffected by it as I am, but I am working towards a vision which I am convinced will bring everyone around in the end. This update is not the end goal, actually it's just another step on the way towards where we're going. There's a quote attributed to Henry Ford that I find useful "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.". In other words, he never would have invented the mass-production car if he only spent his time responding to customer feedback on the existing forms of transport that were out there. If we truly want to innovate (we do), we must begin moving towards innovation, even if it is a painful process.

That said, I completely understand people's concerns and all the feedback is valid. There's not much I can say beyond the FAQ blog I posted. We are going to refocus all of our energies on gameplay updates very soon, with more resources to throw at it than we've ever had. That is better than being stuck with old technology as the market evolves around us. We know what people want, but we also know where we're going, so we're not deterred by short-term turbulence. To be honest, it's gotten to the point where I know the replies I will get weeks ahead of anything we do. It's become routine dealing with it so we can keep moving forwards.

Kylian
Are you also aware of ridiculous lap times and fuel consumption?

The circuits all have new layouts. We do not have a license to use real circuits, if that's what you are comparing it to.

That said, a couple of them are also not to scale and I'd like to correct that (most notably Australia and Singapore). Changing that won't be a quick fix though, it will take time for the artists to change the scale of things. Don't worry, none of that time involves the developers who are all working on other areas.

Excellent reply, this gives me hope for what's to come thank you jack keep plodding on.

the update on the PC exe was a big improvement, however the 2x speed races felt like 3x speed.

When it rains the track and any water turn into a kind of purple psychedelic haze (dancing pixels).  This is not good for any one who suffers from migraines etc.  This is on iOS using an iPad.

In the 3D version, the speedometer sometimes gets stuck. Is this weird melodic sound direct when changing gears?
I have video for this.

Today I raced in Spain 2x (2D)......
Visually it was not nice.... before the corners the cars slow down extrem and out the corner it was sometimes a cannonball. Also the Speed felt more 3x then 2x.....

Google have finally approved the update we sent to them before launch. Android users, we strongly recommend you get this update. It has various improvements and it will fix circuits like Malaysia and Monaco so we can get those live soon too.

Congrats, Jack!!! It's far better right now! It's awesome to see a big improvement in such a small time.

Still have improvements to do but watching a few races even 2.0x is better to watch.

I would list two big points:
- Fix the brake system, it's when all cars start shaking visually and also at the gear change sound.

- 3D must be useful for us. We really need at list a small map otherwise everyone will control using de 2D view and lose the 3D experience.

It seems like the weather temp isn't working or the tyre push levels are messed up. 23 degree Singapore is push levels 3 & 4 for Soft & trying to use Medium is 4 & 5 but the driver locks up on most corners and he can't get heat into the tyres

I just had a Mexico race in 3D, i thought Mexico was on 2D only?
It was quite allright, no more warping cars so well done on squashing that bug.
To work on though: fixed viewpoint to prevent seasickness from constant turning; more visible use of kers; maybe some pitlane action like seeing your pitcrew in action, ability to zoom out a bit further

Hey,

Apple was available since today morning. Make sure you’ve build 408. You can see this in the viewer settings or in the loading screens. Thank you!

Great, just as I said it would be! It's only going to keep getting better every day. The pace of change is going to be much faster than you're used to, because we're all working on the things you can see now. We're back in the open!

We only have to launch 3D once, and now that's done the process of refining it is a walk in the park in comparison. It turned out most of the launch problems weren't even the update, but how some servers got misconfigured on launch night. More patches are already under development, like improvements to 2x car behaviours.

If you could provide a video of the braking that would be helpful. I guess this is more of a 2x issue again? We're open to suggestions on how to make 2x races more viable in 3D. The mini map idea came up during beta testing but we didn't have time to add it. It's something we will look in to, but a good mini map will probably take some time to code, so don't expect that overnight like other updates!

I hope this can help. Look at how the front car start bumping exactly when it starts braking to make the corner and then the car with the onboard also start doing it and you can listen ther gears changing so fast, like the bumping.

EDITED

Suggestion: I don't know exactly how the program works. Maybe a way to fix the 2.0x is to resize the scale of the track instead of double the speed from the 1.0x. I don't know exactly how to do this, but could be a way. In this case, you will need to take care about the time of the lap also.

Yeah I pointed this out last night as probably needing an epileptic warning for the “water” we had the European race and it was constant on the sides of the track, honestly wish they would have just delayed this update and issued an apology instead of just releasing it to beat a deadline as if your a new player just downloading this game for the first time and see all this mess you would just instantly uninstall it as I know I would

Very minor one - since the update when I come onto the forum from the app, I have no way of returning to the game. This is on an iPhone by the way. There used to be an “x” at the top left but it’s disappeared 🤷🏻‍♂️. I have to shut down the app and restart it to get back to the actual game.
