Hi all,
We believe we have corrected advanced strategy not being followed as intended during rain, as well as a couple of issues that were causing crashes and out of sync errors.

What's fixed / changed?

• The water depth settings in the advanced strategy are now correctly enforced.


• Track water depth now increases at a slower rate while raining.


• Drivers with blank forenames or surnames were causing loading issues for some races. All affected drivers have all had proper names generated for them now, so this should not happen again.

I am currently deploying the fixes and changes over the next few hours. Once I am done I will update this post. The reason it takes a few hours is because we try to not affect races that have started already.

The update is now fully released onto the servers. 

Races starting from now will be using the new update.

Last night at 22:45 I had problems!!!  Watching the live of another race marked rain at 3.6 mm.  My championship race started at 23:00, I set in advanced strategy by 3.00 mm Wet, if it stops 10 intermediate laps. 

starts the race with 0.2 of rain and has mounted me the Wets instead of the intermediate. 

Why?

In case of rain after setting the strategy for dry, in the start and for qualifying the game takes rubber chosen in the advanced settings to the item if it is raining ... the setting of mm only acts in the race in progress as the setting it stops raining

Same thing happened to my race yesterday (Brazil). I finished viewing a race minutes before my race and it was 0.2mm of rain. I quickly set up my strategy and surprisingly the race starts with 3.6mm of rain,. What is even stranger, is that the  Elite race of our championship (ran at the same time) had a rain depth of 0.2mm..

Please anyone tell me how is that possible..

The new fix is not on in getting the track wetter slower.  We have Malaysia coming up, and the drivers are asking for full wet setup.  However, the intermediate tyre is much faster than the wet by 4s!  Also, having spectated a race for good few laps, the track is only 0.4mm wet with rain falling hard, and the cars are getting DRS on the intermediate tyre!  This is just not on!  The tyre wear also has increased a lot, intermediate I got 6% wear and wet I got 8%!    

I was just in a Malaysian race and it was a joke.
Pouring rain and just 0,4 water on the track, using inters in pouring rain and the DRS was working. Why have weather if this is the case.
Maybe before changes like this happen it should be tested. Is there not a team who does testing here. what the point of having that team if crap like this happens. It seems to happen nearly with every new update there are problems.

I am in my race now.
0.4mm in pouring rain.
With the DRS.
Rain lighter now, now it 0.2mm.
Intermediate overheated on lowest push and have to 4 stop because they worn out too fast.
This is not on. 
The weather wet is broken again. Worked fine before. Always the managers who are poor who do the complaining about getting things changed because they cannot know how to react fast enough.

Yep I agree the weather was fine and never needed changing in the water on track. Now the advanced setting bit yes needed work but this one to change water rate was fine. And now as you say Torsten it is broke just to comfort a few complainers. You cant please every one and now it is a mess as they tried too.

same situation in japan.

 just 0.2 rain the whole race. while a weather App told that its dry.

In the yesterday race (Germany, 21:30 GMTC+1), we start the race dry, after 15 laps start to rain and go to 0,1mm of water, after other 10 laps rain go to 0,2mm, and the last 35 laps was 0,3mm of water. 
In the advanced strategy I set to go on Intermediate with 1mm of rain, but when I go for the 2° pit stop the AI give me the Inters, and for the 3° pit stop I try to set manualy Soft tyres, but also ththe AI give me the Inters. Haw this is possible???

Edit: the same things happen 3 days ago in Turkey, with 0,2mm of water all the race, and with automatic Inters tyres for start and for all the race.

The mm are locked at 0.2 and there are errors for those who have preset the strategy in case of rain. Tends to mount wet even if manually the manager sets inter. also the setting is high than the rain that falls. have see this bug in 4 race yesterday and now

Just had exactly the same thing.


Pre set race set up for Wet tyres at Monaco (above 3mm).

Race started with rain at 0.2mm, and I was on Full wet tyres....

Race over for me before the lights went out...

Any reason for this ?

Two races in a row I set wets at 3mm. Got to race 0.2mm pit straight away for inters they put softs on this need sorting out. I've lost about 50 seconds  the last race that cost me the win 

@Steve @Sam we just have to wait for them to solve the problem.

Just go back to original settings. Should not take so long. Then do change in test mode.

At the Very least weather should of been turned off until it was fixed Instead we are running in crap conditions that destroys a race. To hit that button to turn off weather cant take that long instead now for two days we had a weather system that is to say the least stuffed.
I know it was the weekend and yes you guys deserve a life I have no problem with that but weather would of been turned off on Friday when it was notified that there was a major problem with it, not just leave it as is to stuff up all wet races. 
Even better before adding changes like this why don't we test them to make sure it works? I know you have a testing team, why not use it.
