Live weather has never worked correctly, get used to it.

It should be randomed so that each season the weather at races in your calendar is set, each season it could be different and it would add sone much needed diversity to races, dubai in monsoon and so on.

Dear developers,
Please fix this change with regards to standing water.
It's been raining at Monza flatout and we raced in only 0.2mm rain.
Coupled with that, we also had DRS active.
Please disable the weather till the fix has been made.  Suggestion is to roll back to original settings which worked anyway!

Hi all,

I have been investigating the error in the track wetness over the weekend and found that it did not behave as originally expected. Although it was tested it wasn't tested over a 2 hour window of constant rain so the issues we saw never got seen during that phase.

I am releasing a patch as of 3pm UTC today which will address the track wetness levels. However for a day or so the weather may vary between servers. This is mainly because the weather patterns are simulated individually to each server which pulls information from our databases. As the servers are started at different times this will mean the level will be different. This usually equals out over a day like I mentioned before.

Has this affected laptimes? I put practice laps in last night for todays race in Spain and put in 1:17.8, then just now put 3 laps in all in 1:19.1 all using ss tyres. I have spectated the venue at same time and is bone dry??

Hi Darren,

Would you pls first fix the issues if it says dry but it isnt, not getting the tyre data I need in an active league.
If there isnt a race on that circuit to spectate to check real conditions is pathetic game play, my opinion.

Missing tools to be able to manage.

It is igp manager right? Not igp gambler?

Regards,

Maarten

Hi Maarten

What exactly are you experiencing? If you mean the fact the track said 0.2mm or 0.4mm and it was heavy rain. That is what the update should have fixed.

I did say everyone may experience less than optimal conditions over the next day or so while the simulators cycle through a day. This affects quite a few variables of the track, weather and race.

If you can show me screen shots of what you are experiencing or a video on youtube or another platform that would be good. Sometimes things don't come across the same as you expect to us and it is always good for us to see visually what issues are as it gives us a better idea of the issue as a whole

I think he refers to the lack of track condition information during practice. Which lately also for some seems to be less connected to actual (past) weather shown in game than it used to. While experienced managers see in the lap times there's something wrong and throw in an Intermediate and, if applicable, a Wet tyre lap to figure out all they need to know (and save up enough laps to keep them updated to the last moment) I think it would still make live easier for everyone if the track condition would be shown.

One possible problem in the past was that the service the practice laps were run on was not that well synced with the one the race would run on, or the next practice lap even, so that information would have been somewhat inconsistent then. Don't know how well the weather synced is now, might work though. Wet races made themselves somewhat rare lately, except for one of those odd 0.2mm water on track races, so I don't know how well it worked after the weather sync update (Too bad our league missed the rain in Bahrain by about a day).

Dear devs,
This needs to be looked at again please.
We just raced the Singapore iGP.  In heavy rain, it took about 20 laps for the standing water to go from 4.4mm to 5mm.
What was even worse, the rain stopped on lap 51, and the standing water only reached 4.7mm after 10 laps at race finish.
Please go back to the original settings.  This will never open up strategy/timing options in mixed conditions, as we we will always be racing in the same conditions.

I cannot post pictures anymore. Weather has changed again.

The live weather has become a bad joke now.

F1 Fans United is the league I am in.

Tracks dont dry up anymore, practise laps are all useless.

I expect a dry track when I see a sun symbol in practise. Or you have to provide extra information doing practise laps beside a global prediction and a symbol that is useless.
Extra information would mean to show standing water at least.
Now I have wasted laps assuming it was dry.
There should be an option to view real track information in realtime when there is no other league race going on at a track, an raceviewer without racers racing is enough.

Again, I do think that a lot of recent changes are not for the better.

In 34 degrees what should be a high tyre wear track 3 stops softs will do, mediums and hards are both useless.

But now the game is broken with the recent weather changes.

Very frustrating

I race in a x2 speed league, and the rate at which rain increased in todays race, I personally found quite unrealistic.

It took 30 laps (Belgium), for the rain to get from 0.0mm to 1.8mm, less than 0.1mm/lap..the rate was just too slow.

This will likely make the lap changeovers between Dry/Intermediate/Wet tyres more clear cut, and remove an element of uncertainty in iGP Wet Races (possibly leading to Wet races becoming even predictable)

Well monaco was a farce, inters wouldnt heat up even on max push level yet were still faster than full wets, then it stopped raining and 1 of my drivers pitted, i could not stop him there was no way to cancel it and it gave him ss tyres.
2.8mm of water on track and it gave him ss, i tried to select inters yet he still came out on ss.

This is the final straw for me, this bug laden game is done, new server same shit, how can a game thats as old as this is still be full of bugs?

Sham,farce spring to mind.

Well im off to something that works.

Shame such a bunch of inept devs work on this game, oh well, theres always red dead 2.

In the race I've just finished(Singapore) there were 0.0 mm in pro and 0.3mm in elite. Only after 33 laps it become 0.2mm even if there was sun. No sense both things.

I love wet races in this game but there is a lot of bugs at the moment that make it impossible to prepare for. I watched a race in italy that finished around 30 mins before mine it was not raining but there was 1.7mm of water on the track and it had taken a long time to get there from about 2.4mm there was no race to view in the next 30min slot but 11 mins before my race practice laps showed inters were still best, lapping same times as when raining. After making sure I qualified on inters, when quali results came up 2 mins later 0 mm f water on track, race lost. The weather in this game is my favorite aspect. Bit frustrating that it has this randomness to it, please fix

We have just had a very strange race at Spa, completely weather system related.

League: https://igpmanager.com/app/p=league&id=22622
Race: https://igpmanager.com/app/d=result&id=19770802&tab=race

My review of what happened:

Practice laps: 18:40 - 8 degrees showing cloudy/dry
Times were 10sec off, laps on inters/wets showed quicker. Setup said perfect for dry.

I spectated a race which started at 18:30 which showed 2.8mm rain but drying - they were on mix of inters/wets.

Advanced settings: 1mm inters
Change when rain stops: 50 laps to soft

We all qualify on drys, 10 secs slower than practice pace

Start race on dry tyres with 2.4mm of water but still not raining. The players online to manage the race were able to change to change their tyres to inters. The teams who were controlled by AI ran with what seemed to be their pre-planned strategy, all dry tyres, never inters or wets.

Edit: It seems Pro ran in the dry and Rookie ran in wet looking at their times.

Do developers even bother to watch real Formula 1 races to understand how it works on real life? Inters and full wets can dry a damp track in a matter of laps. Right now it has taken 25 laps to 14 cars on inters make a track change from 1.2 to 0.9mm...

Darren
The update is now fully released onto the servers.

Races starting from now will be using the new update.

@Gert Rose

Hi!

I wanna ask in connection with that update. So in the on October 30th before the race i set up that if there is 1mm rain put on inters and if its not raining for 3 laps put on softs. So i watched and managed the race and the following happened. There was 1.2 or 1.1 or 1 mm water in the track if i remember right and it wasn't raining. Before my first pit stop i set up intermediets but when the pit stop happened they put up softs.Than it happened when my 3rd pit stop came .The  very lap before the pit stop happened i set up inters and they switched it to softs.I just wanna get an explanation what did i do wrong or what exactly happened. Also if i was seeing right am not the only one that this happened with. Also i just lost some points to this.Looking forward for any answer!

The advanced settings have a nasty habit. Once the pit stop triggers it tends to change the pit stop settings to the tyre it thinks it's supposed to put on (which mostly differs quite a bit from what the manager intents), but you don't see it unless you refresh the pit stop tab by changing tabs (or change fuel I think). So to make sure you get your tyre you better switch to another tyre and then back to the preferred one after the pit signal starts to flash (and hope your connection/server has no hiccup delaying the transfer of that change to the server).

Just had some rain in Spain myself, weather pretty cold at 12°C. The actual weather followed the real one very well. It started to rain (light rain in WU) in lap 38 with water building very slowly and steadily up to 0.8mm in lap 54. Then rain stopped and water needed 1-2 laps to drop to 0.7mm at which level it stayed until around lap 60 or 61 when it started to rain again.

So mostly all went well. Water building up was very slow but with light rain and the cars drying the track it's OK, although faster and a bit more (though I don't know what the max would have been as it stopped) would make the race more interesting. More importantly, though, during those 5 or 6 laps without rain the water dried up too slowly I think, the first slow drop to 0.7mm was OK but afterwards at least 0.1mm per minute would be closer to expectations, even given the low temperature.

Weather needs to be turned off until all this is fixed. The races are being ruined at the moment. 4 hours since it rained at Spa and you still need to use inters. Sad thing is even though you set to start race on inters the game put you on dry tires as it is not raining even though there is water on the track :(
