I agree, it's refreshing to shake things up every now and again to remove the monotony and provide us all with a fresh challenge.
No refuelling was well received even though it was this update that spawned the 50% one stop (and zero stop) strategy that got many managers complaining about tyres in the first place.
Just my opinion but I don't think introducing a 5 or 6 stop strategy to 100% races can be considered to be adding realism to the game and will be counter intuitive to newcomers.
This might sound negative but it's not. It will be really interesting for the next few weeks to discover the new best strategies and hopefully it will result in more than one strategy being viable at each circuit.
I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve done more races (2 so far one at 100% and one at 75%).
However, initial thoughts are:
1. Undercut now seems to work while keeping overcut as an alternative strategy.
2. Mediums are now more competitive compared to Softs.
3. Only drawback I’ve witnessed so far is that the cliff edge for tyres doesn’t seem to be working as Jack described since managers running long stints didn’t appear to lose tyre performance. It’s early days though and more positives than negatives so far.
Yeah I kind of agree. Had a 100% race at Monaco last night and the SS were slower than M even though the SS never went below 50%, and even when the SS were new they were only ever 5tenths faster than M and then lost more performance than M that were many many laps older. At one point new SS were struggling to keep pace with 20lap old M. Might have just been an oddity, so I reserve judgement until I've done more races.
But from early observations, I love the idea of the update but I think some balancing might be required...
